Yahoo!-ABC News Network Leads in 2013: #1 Source of News and Information Online for 14 Consecutive Months

2.5 Billion Page Views, 188 Million Video Streams in March

Mobile Traffic Doubled Year Over Year

In March 2013, the Yahoo!-ABC News Network maintained its position as the #1 source of news and information online. For the 14th consecutive month, ABC News and Yahoo! News placed ahead of CNN, Huffington Post Media Group, NBC News Digital and CBS News, leading the competition by millions of page views, unique users, video views and total minutes.

The Yahoo!-ABC News Network continues to lead by posting gains in page views with 2.5 billion page views:

  • Yahoo!-ABC News Network (2.5 billion)
  • CNN Network 20% (2.1 billion)
  • HPMG News by 65% (1.5 billion)
  • Fox News Digital Network 156%  (973 million)
  • NBC News Digital by 193% (849 million)
  • CBS News by 193% (849 million)
  • New York Times Digital 268% (675 million)

In March 88.6 million unique visitors turned to the Yahoo!-ABC News Network:

  • Yahoo!-ABC News Network (88.6 million)
  • CNN Network by 24% (72 million)
  • HPMG News by 42% (62 million)
  • NBC News Digital by 96% (45 million)
  • CBS News by 109% (42 million)
  • New York Times Digital by 151% (35 million)
  • Fox News Digital Network by 166% (33 million)


ABC News and Yahoo! News continue to engage and inspire users by delivering a wide range of original video content to news consumers. Last month ABC News and Yahoo! News streamed live coverage of several news events, including the pageantry of Benedict XVI’s final days and the historic election of Argentine-born Pope Francis.  In March the five co-produced video series: Power Players, Katies Take, Around the World, This Could Be Big and Newsmakers featured a variety of original, unique stories from top newsmakers across the globe. Exclusive ABC News interviews with President Obama with George Stephanopoulos, Secretary of State John Kerry with Martha Raddatz, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano with Jim Avila and Attorney General Eric Holder with Pierre Thomas were also available to a growing online network of millions of users.  These exclusive on-demand video clips were also featured on and across Yahoo!.

The combined Yahoo!-ABC News Network totaled 188 million video streams in March:

  • HPMG News by 117% (85 million)
  • NBC News Digital by 163% (71 million)
  • Fox News Digital Network by 239% (55 million)
  • CBS News by 371% (40 million)
