A man shot himself at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston today and the unidentified man was dead, according to police.

At 1:35 p.m. CT, an armed male entered Terminal B and fired a shot into the ceiling, according to a Houston Police Department spokesman.

A Homeland Security agent verbally warned him to drop his weapon. The suspect turned toward the agent and then shot himself, police said.

The agent fired at the man at the same time the suspect shot himself, according to ABC News' Houston station KTRK.

Authorities did not immediately know if the man's cause of death was self-inflicted or not, KTRK reported. Officials said an autopsy would be conducted on Friday.

The agent involved in the shooting was not injured but was transported to a local hospital as a "precautionary measure," according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

No one else was injured and police were not looking for anyone else at the airport who might have been involved in the shooting.
