ABC News Radio Wins for Coverage of Superstorm Sandy and 2012 Presidential Election

It was announced today that the Radio Television Digital News Association recognized ABC News with five Edward R. Murrow Awards in the following categories:

Best Newscast - "World News with Diane Sawyer" | Tragedy at the Elementary School ( WATCH) Diane Sawyer anchored a special one-hour edition of "World News" from the Newtown United Methodist Church where people gathered throughout the night to pray for those impacted. ABC's first-rate team of producers and correspondents reported on each aspect of this extremely emotional breaking news story during the hour. At the heart of the broadcast was Diane Sawyer's inspiring interview with Kaitlyn Roig - one of the dedicated, resilient schoolteachers at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Breaking News Coverage - ABC News | Tragedy at the Elementary School The entire news division is recognized for its exceptional breaking news coverage of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.
