"GMA" Grows in Total Viewers and Demo Season-to-Date While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the No. 1 morning program in Total Viewers (5.357 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.909 million) for the week of August 26, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. During the week, "GMA" outperformed NBC's "Today" (4.439 million and 1.782 million, respectively) by +918,000 Total Viewers and by +127,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, in Total Viewers, "GMA" built on its lead over the No. 2-ranked "Today Show" by +4% versus its year-ago week margin (+883,000 on w/o 8/27/12). Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached 22 million users last month. It is the No. 1 morning news website and beats Today.com by millions of users each month.

"GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in all 48 weeks of the season. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than 1 year (the last 54 weeks - since w/o 8/13/12). "GMA's" 54 consecutive weeks at the top stand as its longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 21 years - since before the 1991-92 season; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date, "GMA" has turned in its highest number of No. 1 finishes during a television season in both Total Viewers (48 of 48 weeks) and Adults 25-54 (40 of 48 weeks) in more than 21 years- since before the 1991-92 season.

"GMA" built on the previous week (5.141 million and 1.897 million, respectively, on w/o 8/19/13) by +4% in Total Viewers and by +1% in Adults 25-54, hitting 11-week highs in both Nielsen measures - since w/o 6/10/13.

Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning news program in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. The ABC show is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+674,000) in more than 21 years and in the adult news demo (+87,000) in 21 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date, "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -11%/-16%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is up +13%/+2%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 21 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 5 years - since before the 1991-92 season and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

For the week, "GMA" led "CBS This Morning" by triple-digit margins in Total Viewers (+101%) and Adults 25-54 (+106%), while nearly doubling in Adults 18-49 (+88%) .
