"GMA" Tops NBC's "Today" by 743,000 Total Viewers and 118,000 Adults 25-54

"GMA" Continues to Grow in Demo and Total Viewers Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date

ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the No. 1 morning program in Total Viewers (5.315 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.978 million) for the week of September 2, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. During the week, "GMA" outperformed NBC's "Today" (4.572 million and 1.860 million, respectively) by +743,000 Total Viewers and by +118,000 Adults 25-54. Year to year, "GMA" built on its Adults 25-54 lead over the No. 2-ranked "Today Show" by +42% (+83,000 on w/o 9/3/12). Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached 22 million users last month. It is the No. 1 morning news website and beats Today.com by millions of users each month

"GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in all 49 weeks of the season. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than 1 year (the last 55 weeks - since w/o 8/13/12). "GMA's" 55 consecutive weeks at the top stand as its longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 21 years - since before the 1991-92 season; Nielsen's electronic database started in September 1991.

Season to date, "GMA" has turned in its most number of No. 1 finishes during a television season in both Total Viewers (49 of 49 weeks) and Adults 25-54 (41 of 49 weeks) in more than 21 years- since before the 1991-92 season.

On Wednesday (9/4/13), "GMA" delivered its top telecast in both Total Viewers (5.695 million), Adults 25-54 (2.194 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.591 million) in more than 3 months - since 5/22/13. Head to head, "GMA" beat "Today" (1.874 million) by its largest single-day news demo margin (+320,000) in 3 months - since 6/3/13.

"GMA" posted increased week to week (1.909 million and 1.259 million on w/o 8/26/13) in Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%), delivering its top news demo performance since June -w/o 6/10/13.

"GMA" build on the year-ago week (5.199 million and 1.925 million on w/o 9/3/12) in Total Viewers (+2%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%). "GMA" has seen its overall audience grow from the same week last year in 48 of 49 weeks this season.

Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning news program in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. The ABC show is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+675,000) in more than 21 years and in the adult news demo (+87,000) in 21 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started in September 1991.

Season to date, "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+9%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -11%/-16%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is up +13%/+2%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 21 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 5 years - since before the 1991-92 season and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

For the week, "GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+99%) , while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+116%) and Adults 18-49 (+102%) .
