For week one of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, ABC News' "Good Morning America" averaged 5.969 million Total Viewers and a 2.0 rating/13 share/2.344 million Adults 25-54 for the week of February 10, 2014 according to Nielsen Media Research . Despite airing opposite an Olympics-fueled "Today Show," "GMA" held near perfect retention week to week in both Total Viewers (5.969 million vs. 5.976 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.344 million vs. 2.370 million). Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached almost 21 million users last month

Compared to week one of the 2010 Winter Olympics "GMA" scored substantial double-digit increases in all target demos: Total Viewers (+33%) , Adults 25-54 (+27%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%) - 4.493 million, 1.847 million and 1.410 million, respectively, on w/o 2/15/10. In contrast, NBC's "Today" turned in across-the-board losses from its performance four years ago (-4%/-12%/-12% - 6.377 million, 2.858 million and 2.336 million, respectively) .

"GMA" slashed nearly all of its margins with "Today" in week one of the Sochi Olympics versus its margins in week one of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics in both Total Viewers (-91% - 165,000 vs. 1.884 million) and Adults 25-54 (-84% - 162,000 vs. 1.011 million). Further, it was "GMA's" closest performance with "Today" during an Olympics week when the NBC aired the games - since at least the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta*.

"GMA" led "Today" on Tuesday (2/11/14) by 412,000 Total Viewers (6.420 million vs. 6.008 million), while beating the NBC program on Thursday (2/13/14) by 191,000 Adults 25-54 (2.417 million vs. 2.226 million), standing as the first time ever that a network morning show that did not carry the Olympics win a morning - Nielsen's electronic database started in September 1991. In addition, they were the first-ever Daily Wins for "GMA" over "Today" during the Olympic Games in either Total Viewers or Adults 25-54 - since the 1996 Games in Atlanta*.

Year to year, "GMA" also saw improvement in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+14%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%) - 5.489 million, 2.055 million and 1.520 million, respectively, on w/o 2/11/13. "GMA" has built on the year-earlier week for the last 7 weeks.

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program for the 2nd-straight year in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 657,000 Total Viewers and 89,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" has widened its season margins over "Today" versus the same point last season in Total Viewers by 22% (657,000 vs. 538,000) and in Adults 25-54 by 39% (89,000 vs. 64,000). Further, "GMA" is posting its largest Total Viewer season margin in more than 22 years and biggest in Adults 25-54 in 22 years - since at least the 1991-92 season (Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991) and the 1991-92 season, respectively.

Growing for the 3rd year in a row, "GMA" is up by double-digits over the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+13%). In fact, "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 22 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 8 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 2005-06 seasons, respectively. Further, "GMA" is up the most in Adults 25-54 compared to "CBS This Morning" (+3%) and NBC's "Today" (+12%)

During the week, "GMA" outperformed "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+81%), Adults 25-54 (+106%) and Adults 18-49 (+92%) .
