President Vladimir Putin made a surprise visit to the Team USA house in Sochi – prompting a flurry of selfies and tweets from Olympic athletes who were stunned by the impromptu visit.
Putin (with his own camera in tow) sat on a coach and chatted with Scott Blackmun, CEO of the US Olympic Committee, and Larry Probst, chairman of the board for about 10 minutes – although it was unclear what they talked about.

It’s not the first time the president has dropped by to congratulate athletes during the Olympic run in Sochi. He stopped by the Holland Heineken House last Sunday and congratulated the first openly gay gold medalist at the Olympics.
The US and Russia are set to face off tomorrow in hockey.
