Background: Mancuso, a formidable competitor, who has demonstrated an ability to win in the two previous games will be closely watched at Sochi.

A three-time Olympic medalist, she has already won a gold and two silver medals. In 2006, in Turino, Italy, Mancuso won gold in the giant slalom. In 2010, in Vancouver, she placed second in both the downhill and combined events.

Going into Sochi, Mancuso is the fourth-ranked female Alpine skier in the world.  In 2013, she medaled in 10 World Cup races. Just before the Olympics were to open in Sochi, Mancuso posed in a revealing catsuit for a photo shoot featured in GQ.
