CT Woman Gives Birth, Didn't Know She Was Pregnant

Jennifer Scollin was under the impression she had caught a stomach bug with severe stomach pains and nausea.

However, there was a baby inside of her and Scollin claims "she didn't know she was pregnant," according to the Connecticut Post.

She had been feeling okay up until the past few days and says "I had been menstruating every month until last month," Scollin told the Connecticut Post.

Scollin, a resident of Seymour, Connecticut, gave birth to her second child in an ambulance. She knew something was wrong when she woke up in the morning with sharp stomach pains, Scollin told the Connecticut Post.

Scollin called her boyfriend, Matt Dillman, and told him he needed to come home from work. Her water broke just after Dillman returned and Scollin was taken to Griffin Hospital.

"We didn't know at first it was a baby coming, but once we did, it happened fast," Scollin told the Connecticut Post. "Two pushes and he was out." A 9-pound-3-ounce baby was born.

Scollin and her boyfriend have a 4-year-old daughter, Keley, so Scollin has been through pregnancy before but she says this time "not all the signs were there," according to the Connecticut Post.

The couple named their newborn son, Cole Michael Thomas Dillman. Both Jennifer and Cole are doing well and were discharged on Monday.
