" This Week" is Up by Double-Digits in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Week to Week, Year to Year and Season to Date

On April 27, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked No. 1 for the 2nd week in a row in both Total Viewers (2.935 million) and Adults 25-54 (877,000) , according to Nielsen Media Research. In fact, the ABC public affairs program has ranked No. 1 in the key adult news demo in 7 of the last 10 Sundays.

"This Week" beat CBS' "Face the Nation" by its largest margins in Total Viewers (+308,000) and Adults 25-54 (+103,000) in 7 weeks - since 3/9/14.

"This Week" led NBC's "Meet the Press" by 738,000 Total Viewers and by 219,000 Adults 25-54 to deliver its largest advantages in 6 weeks - since 3/16/14. "This Week" has outdelivered "Meet the Press" in 9 of the last 10 weeks in Total Viewers and 8 of the last 10 in Adults 25-54.

For the 2nd week in a row, "This Week" posted double-digit week-to-week increases (2.616 million and 776,000, respectively, on 4/20/14) in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+13%) to hit 5-week highs in both measures - since 3/23/14. In addition, "This Week" grew the most from the prior week compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (+1%/+7%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (flat/-1%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-1%/-6%).

"This Week" surged on its year-ago telecast in both Total Viewers (+26%) and Adults 25-54 (+36%) - 2.337 million and 646,000, respectively on 4/28/13. Year to year, "This Week" grew the most in Total Viewers and was as the only program to grow in the key adult news demo as both the CBS' "Face the Nation" (-17%/-13%) and NBC's "Meet the Press" (-12%/-16%) were down by double digits, while Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+1%/-17%) was mixed.

Season to date, " This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+13%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%) versus its year-ago season averages. Growing in both measures for the 2nd year in a row, "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+2%/+3%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-6%/-8%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+3%/-9%).

In addition, "This Week" leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+97,000) and Adults 25-54 (+31,000), beating the NBC program during a season for the first time in 17 years in overall viewers and in 20 years in the key adult news demo - since the 1996-97 and the 1993-94 seasons, respectively.
