ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked as the morning's No. 1 morning program for the 2nd week in a row across all key target demos: Total Viewers (5.653 million), Adults 25-54 (2.135 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.601 million) for the week of May 19, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" beat NBC's "Today" (4.850 million, 2.012 million and 1.589 million, respectively) during the week by 803,000 Total Viewers, by 123,000 Adults 25-54 and by 12,000 Adults 18-49. "GMA" increased its year-to-year lead over the NBC program in Adults 25-54 by 17% (+105,000 on w/o 5/20/13).

Winning for the 2nd straight week in Adults 18-49, "GMA" scored its largest Adults 18-49 lead over the No. 2-ranked "Today" in 9 months - since w/o 8/19/13.

"GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in 95 of the last 99 weeks (since w/o 6/25/12), finishing behind "Today" only during the two weeks of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the two weeks of the 2014 Winter Olympics. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in 31 of the 35 weeks of the season, pacing ahead of the No. 1 finishes at the same point of the 2012-13 Season (28 of 34 weeks*).

For the 2nd week running and the 11th time in the past 12 weeks, "GMA" improved on the year-ago performance in Adults 18-49 (+7% - 1.601 million vs. 1.501 million on w/o 5/20/13). In fact, "GMA" improved the most year to year in Adults 18-49 compared to "CBS This Morning" (-17%) and NBC's "Today" (+4%).

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program for the 2nd-straight year in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 666,000 Total Viewers and 118,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" has widened its season margins over "Today" versus the same point last season in Total Viewers by 3% (666,000 vs. 648,000) and in Adults 25-54 by 55% (118,000 vs. 76,000). Further, "GMA" is posting its largest Total Viewer season margin in more than 22 years and biggest in Adults 25-54 in 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season (Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991) and the 1992-93 season, respectively.

Growing for the 3rd year in a row, "GMA" is up over the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%). In fact, "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 22 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 8 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 2005-06 seasons, respectively. "GMA" is also up the most in Adults 25-54 compared to "CBS This Morning" (-2%) and NBC's "Today" (+9%).

During the week, "GMA" defeated "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers by 82%, while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+124%) and Adults 18-49 (+136%) .

May 2014 Sweep

ABC News' "Good Morning America" won the May 2014 Sweep in both Total Viewers (5.678 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.149 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" turned in its first back to back May sweeps victory in 19 years in Total Viewers (since May 1994 and May 1995) and in 20 years in Adults 25-54 (since May 1993 and May 1994). In addition, the May 2014 Sweep represented "GMA's" 8th consecutive sweeps victory in Total Viewers, while its 6th win of 7 sweeps in Adults 25-54 ("GMA" finished behind a Winter Olympics-fueled "Today" during the 2014 February sweep) .

"GMA" outperformed the No. 2-ranked NBC's "Today" (4.939 million and 2.013 million) by 739,000 Total Viewers and by 136,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" scored its largest news demo sweep advantage over "Today" during any sweep in 20 years - since May 1994.

Compared to the year-ago May 2013 sweep (2.103 million and 1.508 million, respectively), "GMA" improved in both Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+4%) . In addition, growing over the year-ago May sweep in Adults 25-54 for the 4th straight year, "GMA" attracted its best May Sweep performance in the key adult news demo in 8 years - since May 2006. Further, "GMA" saw is best Adults 18-49 May sweep performance in 6 years - since May 2008.

"GMA" beat CBS' "This Morning" during the month by 81% in Total Viewers (5.678 million vs. 3.144 million), while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+122% - 2.149 million vs. 967,000).
