Chris Vlasto Promoted to EP of GMA's 7:00a hr; Rachel Miskowiec Joins GMA as EP of the 8:00a hr

Tom Cibrowski, Senior Executive Producer of ABC News' "Good Morning America" sent the following note to staff this morning announcing Chris Vlasto has been promoted to Executive Producer of GMA's 7:00a hour and Rachel Miskowiec will join ABC News as Executive Producer of GMA's 8:00a hour.

Team GMA and ABC News:

I am delighted to tell you about a new role for Chris Vlasto and about a new member of our team, Rachel Miskowiec.

Chris, who has served by my side in the trenches for the past three years, has been promoted to Executive Producer of GMA's 7:00 hour. Chris will lead the charge on our high-wattage hour of breaking news and will continue to always champion the best and most interesting stories, investigations and interviews.

A longtime fixture here at ABC News who has worked on every program, we all know him as an outstanding leader who knows how to have fun, working tirelessly to make GMA the best possible show for our audience every morning.

Chris has been instrumental in driving us to number one, and I'm confident he will continue to help lead the broadcast to even better days ahead with his amazingly competitive spirit.

Rachel, a long-time television producer and excellent show runner, will join GMA as Executive Producer of the 8:00 hour on July 14. She will partner with the indomitable Margo Baumgart and her team to bring our second hour to whole new levels. Margo's enthusiasm for new ideas, and her love for music, movies, books, celebrities and everything in the zeitgeist has made GMA fun, must-see television at 8:00 a.m. As we all know, Margo is GMA's most passionate cheerleader - who loves what she does more than anything, and we love her for that!

Rachel brings a wide range of production experience, serving most recently as Executive Producer of "Katie." Under her leadership "Katie" tackled both important issues - from obesity to the Knockout Game - and pop culture. Of her many excellent shows, two especially stand out - an hour dedicated to Scholarship America, where 12 students were given college tuition, and a program about an extraordinary young man and his search for a cure for Progeria. Rachel helped the program zero in on features that were both topical and have heart, and I am delighted she'll bring that same keen sense for great stories to GMA.

I am very proud of our Emmy Award-winning morning program, but in many respects we're just getting started. To serve our viewers as best we can, we must push ourselves to tell important stories in creative and innovative ways.

You all are the strongest, smartest and most dedicated team in morning television. I'm proud to work alongside you every day and could not be more excited to see what's next.

Tom
