“This Week” is #1 in Adults 25-54 for the Fourth Week in a Row

 “This Week” is #1 in Adults 25-54 for the Fourth Consecutive Week

 ”This Week” Ranks #1 in News Demo 11 of Last 13 Weeks

“This Week” Grows by Double-Digits Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date in Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers

 

On August 24, 2014, ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” stood as No. 1 public affairs program on Sunday in Adults 25-54 (857,000), according to Nielsen Media Research.  “This Week” has ranked No. 1 in the key adult news demo for the last 4 weeks and in 11 of the last 13.

 

“This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” by 369,000 Total Viewers and by 145,000 Adults 25-54, leading the NBC program in overall viewers for the last 9 weeks and in 8 of the last 9 in the key adult news demo.

 

“This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday by double-digits in Total Viewers (+13%) and Adults 25-54 (+14%) – 2.491 million and 749,000, respectively on 8/25/13. The ABC public affairs program has turned in year-to-year improvement in both measures in 8 of the last 9 weeks.   

 

Season to date, “This Weekis up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+16%) versus its year-ago season averages.  ”This Week” is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years – since the 2008-09 season. In addition, “This Week” is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS’ “Face the Nation” (+2%/+1%), NBC’s “Meet the Press” (-5%/-6%) and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday” (+4%/-9%).  

  

“This Week” also leads NBC’s “Meet the Press” this season in both Total Viewers (+207,000) and Adults 25-54 (+70,000), leading the NBC program by its largest Total Viewer advantage in 18 years and biggest in the key adult news demo in 21 years - since the 1995-96 and the 1992-93 seasons, respectively.
