Outperforming NBC's "Today" by 619,000 Total Viewers and 227,000 Adults 25-54

"GMA" Hits 12-Week High in Key Adult News Demo

"GMA" Only Morning Show to Grow Year-to-Year in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (5.065 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.932 million) for the week of August 25, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" beat the No. 2-ranked "Today" (4.446 million and 1.705 million, respectively) during the week by 619,000 Total Viewers and by 227,000 Adults 25-54. "GMA" also increased its news demo lead over "Today" both over the previous week (+50%; vs. 151,000 on w/o 8/18/14) and the year-ago week (+79%; vs. 127,000 on w/o 8/26/13) to post its largest advantage in 5 weeks - since w/o 7/21/14. Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached over 17 million users last month.

"GMA" has won in overall viewers and the key adult news demo every week since the end of the 2014 Winter Olympics 27 weeks ago. Overall, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in 109 of the last 113 weeks (since w/o 6/25/12), finishing behind "Today" only during the two weeks of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the two weeks of the 2014 Winter Olympics. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in 45 of the 49 weeks of the season, pacing ahead of the No. 1 finishes at the same point of the 2012-13 Season (40 of 48 weeks*).

"GMA" saw gains week to week (4.849 million, 1.773 million and 1.210 million, respectively, on w/o 8/18/14) in Total Viewers (+4%) , Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+11%), hitting a 12-week high in the key adult news demo - since w/o 6/9/14. In addition, "GMA" grew the most over the previous week compared to "CBS This Morning" (flat/flat/+1%) and NBC's "Today" (+2%/+5%/+5%).

"GMA" improved on the year-ago week (1.909 million and 1.259 million, respectively, on w/o 8/26/13) in Adults 25-54 (+1%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%). The ABC morning newscast was the only program to grow year to year in the key adult demos as both "CBS This Morning" (-4%/-13%) and NBC's "Today" (-4%/-2%) delivered losses.

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program for the 2nd straight year in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 686,000 Total Viewers and 146,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" has widened its season margins over "Today" versus the same point last season in Total Viewers by 2% (686,000 vs. 674,000) and by a significant 68% in Adults 25-54 (146,000 vs. 87,000). Further, "GMA" now leads "Today" by its largest Adults 25-54 season advantage to-date.

"GMA" is posting its largest season margins over "Today" in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 in more than 22 years - since at least the 1991-92 season (Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991).

Growing in both measures for the 4th season in a row, "GMA" is up over the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+8%). In fact, "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 22 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 8 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 2005-06 seasons, respectively. "GMA" is also up the most in Adults 25-54 compared to "CBS This Morning" (-3%) and NBC's "Today" (+5%).

During the week, "GMA" defeated "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+77%) , Adults 25-54 (+119%) and Adults 18-49 (+130%) .
