Dashcam Video Captures Wild Police Chase in New Jersey
Police in New Jersey have released dramatic dashcam video of a car chase that lasted 30 minutes and included the suspect going the wrong way down a highway and injuring a cop.
Denny Oh, 25, of Hackettstown, New Jersey, allegedly was behind the wheel of a stolen minivan being pulled over by Ridgefield police officers on Oct. 7.
When Officer Kevin Nebbia started to arrest Oh on outstanding warrants, authorities said the minivan peeled out, dragging Nebbia down the road. Nebbia reportedly suffered a broken arm.
During the police chase, a mother and young boy traveling in a sport utility vehicle were forced to crash into a building. They were not seriously hurt.
"It sounded as if it was a big explosion. There was a lot of smoke. Everyone was running," witness Janet Cava told ABC station WABC-TV in New York. "He was just going so fast, absolutely reckless."
Nearly 30 minutes later, the suspect allegedly stopped the car and tried to flee. He was arrested and jailed on $250,000 bail.
He faces charges that include aggravated assault on a police officer and driving under the influence.
