" World News Tonight with David Muir" finished as the No. 1 evening newscast in Adults 25-54 (1.981 million) during the week of October 27, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research and has won 11 weeks in a row. Season to date, "World News Tonight" has won the first 6 weeks of the season to deliver its best competitive start to a season in 7 years (since the 2007-08 season) when the ABC program also won the first 6 weeks. In addition, ABC's "World News Tonight" won the month of October in Adults 25-54 (2.078 million) based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. "World News Tonight" grew the most in the demo (+8%) from October 2013 compared to "NBC Nightly News" (-9%) and "CBS Evening News" (+2%).

"World News Tonight" (8.112 million) was up in Total Viewers both week to week (+2% - vs. 7.948 million on w/o 10/20/14) and year to year (+4% - 7.828 million on w/o 10/28/13). "World News Tonight" grew the most in overall viewers versus the year-ago week compared to "CBS Evening News (-2%) and "NBC Nightly News" (up less than +1%).

"World News Tonight" narrowed its year-to-year margins with "NBC Nightly News" in Total Viewers (-32% - 575,000 vs. 851,000) and Adults 18-49 (-87% - 31,000 vs. 239,000).

Season to date, "World News Tonight" stands as the No. 1 evening newscast in Adults 25-54, leading "NBC Nightly News" by 67,000 news demo viewers. This marks the first time in 7 years that "World News Tonight" ranks as the top evening newscast in Adults 25-54 during the season - since the 2007-08 season. In addition, "World News Tonight" slashed its season gaps with "NBC Nightly News" by 41% in Total Viewers (446,000 vs. 762,000) and by 62% in Adults 18-49 (88,000 vs. 231,000), marking its closest Adults 18-49 performance in 7 years, respectively - since the 2007-08 seasons.

"World News Tonight" is improving versus the same point last season in Total Viewers (+5%), Adults 25-54 (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+2%). Delivering increases for the 2nd season in a row, "World News Tonight" is averaging its largest overall viewer audience in 7 years and strongest in the key adult news demo in 5 years - since the 2007-08 and the 2009-10 seasons, respectively. In addition, "World News Tonight" is improving the most in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 compared to "CBS Evening News" (flat/+3%) and "NBC Nightly News" (+1%/-9%) and is the only broadcast up in all key measures from last year.

For the week, "World News Tonight" led the "CBS Evening News" by 1.444 million Total Viewers, by 388,000 Adults 25-54 and by 198,000 Adults 18-49.
