ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" Ranks as the No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Adults 25-54 for the First Telecast of 2015

"This Week" Surges from the Previous Week in Adults 25-54 to Hit a Season High

ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (1.055 million) for the first telecast of 2015 on January 4, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" led NBC's "Meet the Press" by 189,000 Adults 25-54 and CBS' "Face the Nation" by 181,000 Adults 25-54. "This Week" led the CBS program by its largest news demo margin of the season.

"This Week" surged from the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+19% - 1.055 million vs. 883,000) to hit a season high. In fact, "This Week" scored its strongest key news demo performance in over 9 months - since 3/16/14. In addition, "This Week" grew the most week to week in Adults 25-54 compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (-8%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-4%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+7%).

"This Week" also saw improvement in Adults 25-54 on the year-ago Sunday (+10% - 1.055 million vs. 959,000 on 1/5/14), standing as the only public affairs program to grow, CBS' "Face the Nation" (-15%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-14%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-28%) turned in double-digit losses.

Season to date, " This Week" is up in Adults 25-54 (+4%) versus the same point last season to its strongest news demo performance in 6 years - since the 2008-09 season. Competitively, "This Week" is outdelivering NBC's "Meet the Press" for the 2nd year in a row, leading the NBC program by its largest margins during a season in 18 years in Total Viewers (+135,000) and in 21 years in Adults 25-54 lead (+95,000) - since the 1996-97 and the 1993-94 seasons, respectively.
