Egg Nog Shakes, Desserts Added to McDonald's Holiday Menu

It's that time of year again. Holiday decorations are slowly starting to appear on store shelves and menus. McDonald's has rolled out two new holiday items: a Holiday Mint McFlurry and an Egg Nog Shake. The chain has also started serving its peppermint mocha and peppermint hot chocolate.

Independently franchised restaurants in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania have already started serving the treats.

The Egg Nog Shake is a vanilla milkshake mixed with egg nog syrup that contains 540 calories and 76 grams of sugar, according to Brand Eating. The Holiday Mint McFlurry is made with vanilla soft serve, peppermint candy pieces and mint syrup. It has 570 calories and 76 grams of sugar.

Both cost the same as the regular McFlurry and milkshake: The McFlurry costs $2.59 and the shake costs $2.32.

Other holiday items such as a pumpkin shake, pumpkin spice latte and a holiday pie have made appearances at certain locations across the country.

Earlier this week, Burger King introduced a gingerbread cookie sundae and a shake to its holiday menu.
