6 Things You Didn't Know About Emeril Lagasse
You know Emeril Lagasse for his signature New Orleans and Southern-style dishes, catchphrases like "Bam!" and chummy TV personality, but what does the celebrity chef eat and cook when he's not in front of the camera?
" Good Morning America" caught up with Lagasse in New Orleans and got him to answer the hard-hitting questions that foodies want to know: what's his favorite junk food? What does he keep stocked in his fridge?

What's in your fridge at home? What's in my fridge at home? You know, not much because at home I kind of shop every day… There's not a lot. There's wine, there's eggs. There's chicken and turkey because right now I'm eating a lot of protein. There's wine and there's wine.
What's your favorite junk food? My favorite junk food when I was a kid is still my favorite food today: potato chips. But what happened is that I moved up when I came to New Orleans. When I came to New Orleans I got introduced to this potato chip called Zapp's. They're delicious when you put them in the freezer, just the original. They have a lot of different flavors - Crawtator, they have Dill. The original Zapp's in the freezer, try them, Oh my God.
What's your favorite ingredient to cook with? I'm inspired by the season, I'm inspired by the day, I'm inspired by the soil. I would say anything coming out of the gulf, fish-wise.
When did you decide you wanted to become a chef? When I wanted to become a chef, it was a very tough decision because as a young boy, I was blessed. I had music talents so I played a lot of music and I actually turned down a music scholarship to pay to go to cooking school. So I started when I was 10 washing pots and pans in a P ortuguese bakery in Fall River, Mass. Then I started cooking and I started working and I really fell in love with food, but I always had this music thing constantly going on as well.
What's your favorite meal to make for family? When it comes to the family, it's simple, it's simple food. There's nothing wrong with just a perfect roast chicken with roasted vegetables. Click here for his garlic schmeered Rosemary roast chicken recipe.
What's your favorite breakfast? My favorite breakfast is eggs with bacon with whole wheat toast with fresh orange juice and fruit. That would be the perfect thing. I don't eat it every day, but it would be the perfect thing.
