3 Gourmet Microwavable Meals in 30 Minutes

Gourmet meals from your microwave? Yes, the thing you rely on to make popcorn and heat up canned soup can also cook an entire gourmet meal for your family.

Chef Richard Blais took "Good Morning America's" challenge to make a complete gourmet meal in the microwave in under 30 minutes. The "Top Chef" alum and author of "Try This at Home" revamps your standard microwave fare with recipes for English pea soup , salmon with potato chip crust, spinach and apples, and "E-Z" angel food cake.

Recipe for English Pea Soup Ingredients: 1 cup frozen English peas 2 cups water 1 teaspoons sugar 2 teaspoons salt 1 lemon Instructions: Place in microwave-safe bowl. Wrap in plastic wrap. Poke a small hole in plastic and cook for 5 minutes. Rest for one minute. Transfer to blender and puree until smooth. Season with micro planed lemon zest and juice. Additional salt and white pepper and water if needed. Garnished with whipped yogurt and diced mint leaves.

Recipe for Salmon with Potato Chip Crust, Spinach and Apples Salmon Ingredients: 2 6-ounce pieces of salmon 1 sprig thyme 1 garlic clove Salt pepper +\- 1 cup olive oil

Instructions for the salmon: Place salmon filets in 6 x 6 in container and add enough oil to come a quarter of the way up side of filet. Add thyme, garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Cover with plastic wrap tightly and poke 1 or 2 holes in plastic. Cook for 4 minutes and allow to rest for 3 minutes before serving. Top with potato chip crust (recipe follows). For the potato chip crust: 1 cup potato chips, crushed up 1 lemon, zested 1 teaspoon dill, chopped 1 teaspoon parsley, chopped Mayo as needed Instructions: Mix all ingredients thoroughly.

For the apples: 2 Granny Smith apples, rough chopped 1 tablespoon water 1 teaspoon of grain mustard 1/2 teas brown sugar Instructions: Place in microwave safe container and wrap with plastic wrap. Pierce small hole in wrap and cook 4 minutes. Let rest one minute and mash with fork.

For the spinach: 3 cups picked baby spinach, rough chopped 1 tablespoon water 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon of chopped cooked bacon Instructions: Place in microwave safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Poke holes in wrap and cook for 3 minutes. Let rest for one minute and serve.

Recipe for 'E-Z' Angel Food Cake Ingredients: 3 large eggs 5 tablespoons sugar 1/2 cup pastry flour Instructions: Lightly butter 8 paper coffee cups. Whip eggs in mixing bowl with whisk attachment until foamy. Add sugar in a slow stream and continue whipping until three times the size, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Sift flour into bowl and gently fold into mixture. Poke 5 or 6 holes in each cup and fill batter two thirds of the way up. Cook for 30 seconds and rest for 3. Flip over on to plate.
