New Simpsons Attraction 'Krustyest Place on Earth'

Springfield, Somewhere in the USA, is coming to Orlando, Fla., this summer. Universal Orlando theme park has unveiled plans for a new area to be built around Universal Studios' existing attraction, "The Simpsons Ride." The new area is set to open sometime this summer, the theme park said.

Guests will be able to walk the streets of Springfield, including a stroll down Fast Food Boulevard. On offer: Meat sandwiches at Krusty Burger, the daily catch at Frying Dutchman, pizza at Luigi's and doughnuts at Lard Lad are all on offer. Oh, and for those who wish to imbibe, a Duff Beer, brewed exclusively for Universal Orlando, will be available at Moe's Tavern.

"This will be a must-see experience for Simpsons' fans all over the world," said Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, in a statement. "For the first time ever, they're going to be able to enter a world that they've only seen on television, and we're really excited to bring that world to life."

Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl, a new attraction, will take " foolish humans on an intergalactic spin designed to send them into orbit," Universal Orlando's statement said.

In addition to the new attraction and food options, two new Simpsons characters will make their debut with the new area - Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Bob.

"It has been an honor to bring the world of the Simpsons to life in such a letter-perfect way," said Denise Sirkot, president of Worldwide Brand and Gracie Films. "Truly, this is the Krustyest place on earth."
