Calif. Couple Says 'I Do' to Bacon, and Marriage

What says a lifetime of marital bliss?

Nothing but bacon if you are Adrienne Dunvan and Eddie Quinones, the California couple who were married Sunday at the Big Bite Bacon Fest at the San Diego County Fair.

Dunvan and Quinones of Vista, Calif., won their bacon-filled marriage ceremony and reception through a contest sponsored by the festival that promised an affair filled with "surprises of romantic porkportions and soft, bacon-y bits."

That promise as big as a pig did not disappoint for Dunvan and Quinones, the parents of four adopted foster children who had their first date in 2009 over a meal of pernil, a Puerto Rican pork dish, according to a spokeswoman for the bacon festival.

It was that tale of a love for bacon, combined with the fact that the couple had not been able to afford a wedding because of their roles as foster and then adoptive parents, that won them the wedding, the spokeswoman said.

Sunday's ceremony, held at the fairgrounds and attended by the couple's family and friends, included an aisle of bacon fabric adorned with bacon roses and tulle, bacon bouquets for Dunvan and her attendants and bacon boutonnieres for Quinones and his groomsmen. The couple's flower girls sprinkled the aisle with bacon bits and the ring bearers carried bacon petal ring pillows.

The ceremony was officiated by radio personality Jesse Lozano whose black-tie vest was accented by bacon.

The wedding cake, of course, was decorated with a bacon theme, while the groom's cake was a giant maple bacon bourbon doughnut covered in bacon bits. If Dunvan and Quinones had not had enough bacon on their happy day, they could snack on the bacon bits guests threw their way instead of the traditional rice.

The happy couple, who could not be reached today by ABCNews.com, did not just win a wedding ceremony in the contest, they also won a free honeymoon.

The Big Bite Bacon Fest arranged for Dunvan and Quinones to travel to Baltimore for a five-night stay where they will be the guests of honor at the 12 th Annual Pigtown Festival.
