As competitive autocross drivers, Maggie O'Brien thought she and her boyfriend were out for a typical spin at an autocross track in Ayer, Mass., when all of a sudden, he pulled a fast one on her.

"You're the most amazing woman I've ever met in my whole life," Jake Wile told her as he brought the car to an abrupt halt. "Every minute has been a joy, and I want you to be on my team for life. I want you to be my co-driver for life."

Wile had strategically placed an extra video camera on the dashboard of the car, facing inward, in order to secretly capture the proposal. Usually their autocross cars only have one camera, facing outward, to record the track they are driving on.

A shocked and surprised O'Brien said yes, after removing her helmet to reveal tears of excitement before leaning in for a kiss.

"There were honestly so many things he had to do to plan and be sneaky with that video to be facing us," O'Brien, 30, told GoodMorningAmerica.com. "We never run the camera at that angle, we only run it facing out. He told me our friends wanted to put together an autocross video and I was like, 'Oh yeah, totally fine.'"

Little did she know that the special maneuver was just for her, and Wile's hard work paid off, as the two plan to get married sometime within the next year.

The video of the proposal has also gone wildly viral with more than 340,000 views since Wile, 32, originally posted it to YouTube on July 10.

"We thought our friends and family would get a big kick out of it, but it just blew up," said O'Brien.

The proposal wasn't the only unique plan Wile had up his sleeve. He also worked with a jeweler for three months to personally design O'Brien's engagement ring, which is topaz rather than a traditional diamond.
