#Awesome! World's First Twitter Hotel
By now, most hotels are on Twitter. But one hotel in coastal Spain is taking Twitter to a new level, going as far as to claim to be the world's "first Twitter hotel experience."
The Sol Wave House in Majorca, Spain, is owned by the Melia brand.
"We merge the real and virtual worlds to create a totally new experience," the hotel's website reads. "Something never seen before. We connect the hotel and everyone in it to their own social community where they can meet, interact, have fun, compete, experience, flirt, tweet, and much, much more."
There's a dedicated Twitter concierge and a "Twitter Party Suite" that includes "Twitter concierge assistance by # during your stay and even before you arrive," and, "a free drink per person at the #TwitterParty only for guests in the Twitter Party Suites."
Guests communicate with other guests and with hotel staff through the hotel's #SocialWave community. Guests can order room service, a drink by the pool or any other request using the hashtag.
The hotel's Twitter account - @SolWaveHouse - has about 950 followers.
