Man vs. Plane: Pro Athlete Tries to Outrun Jet

In a London race that pitted man against machine, South African Rugby player Bryan Habana attempted to beat a jumbo jet in a race.

The stunt was documented to celebrate the launch of service on British Airways' new flight from London to Johannesburg on the Airbus A380.

Habana, who famously raced a cheetah in 2007 to raise awareness about the endangered animals, took on British Airways' new super jumbo, a jet with four engines that each produce 17,000 pounds of thrust. The A380 lifts off at about 140 mph and flies up to 600 mph.

"It ranks up there with one of the craziest things I've ever had to do," Habana, 30, said.

He lost to the cheetah, FYI.

But did he beat the A380? Watch and see.
