Pizza Hut was the most searched chain restaurant on Google in 2013.

The year is winding to a close, and with it have come a flurry of "Best Of" lists. Google got in on the craze and released its yearly "Zeitgeist" report, which aggregates the top searches in different categories for the year. It's pretty cool to know what the rest of the country is searching for, and so here are the most-searched-for national restaurants in 2013. We get it, America, you like pizza.

Most searches correlate with chains coming out with new menu items or making headlines. Searches for Pizza Hut spiked in June with the release of the restaurant's flatbread pizzas and again around Thanksgiving, when the chain made headlines for reportedly firing one of its managers for refusing to open the location on Thanksgiving Day. Or it could be that people just really wanted their pizza at those times - no judgment.
