I’ve had two pregnancies, one very easy and one very long and complicated. With all the highs and lows (and normals) there is one moment that I will never forget though.
It was our first pregnancy, my husband and I were both excited and we headed together into our first appointment. Things were a little hectic, the doctor had to run out for an emergency at the hospital and our appointment got moved around. We ended up getting an ultrasound first and then planned to see the doctor later in the day. As the ultrasound started we laid there eager to see whatever you can see of a 8 week pregnancy. It was a cute little bubble, and the ultrasound tech seemed happy. Then we heard the words we’ll never forget: “Your first baby looks good, and your second baby is looking great too!” We had no clue until that moment, but for some reason the technician thought we did.
We had a two-hour break to wait for the doctor to return to the office. During those two hours we just sat there staring at each other and saying “twins” over and over again. It was surreal and crazy, and definitely the start of the most fun times of our life!
