Romney Reclaims Top Spot While Perry Falls and Cain Rises
Mitt Romney reclaimed his front-runner status as Rick Perry fell to second place and Herman Cain tripled his support base, rising to third place in a new poll released today.
The FOX News phone poll found Romney claimed the support of 23 percent of Republican primary voters while Perry garnered 19 percent of support, a 10-point drop since FOX’s last poll at the end of August. Texas Gov. Perry has sat atop presidential polls, but the poll released today delivers his first second-place status since entering the presidential race six weeks ago.
Herman Cain reached the third-place slot after claiming 17 percent, an 11-point jump since August.
The 925-person poll was conducted Sept. 25-27, days after Perry’s shaky performance at the FOX News debate and Cain’s unexpected win in the Florida Straw Poll. CNN/ORC released the first poll after the political weekend in Florida Monday, which still showed Perry at the top of the field with 28 percent of support and Romney at 21 percent.
Rounding out the bottom of the FOX poll are Newt Gingrich at 11 percent, Ron Paul at 6 percent, Jon Huntsman at 4 percent, and Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum at 3 percent each. Bachmann dropped 8 percentage points since the last FOX News poll in August, weeks after her win at the Ames Iowa Straw Poll.
When asked if New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, whom the poll described as a “strong leader and a straight talker,” should run for president, only 32 percent of respondents said he should run while 39 percent said no, and 28 percent said they were undecided.
As for Donald Trump’s influence on voters in the 2012 race, only six percent said they’d be more likely to vote for a candidate based on a Trump endorsement, with the majority, 62 percent, saying the Trump’s opinion wouldn’t a make a difference on their vote.

Joe Biden Recalls Death of Wife, Daughter
The hypocrisy of my country the USA knows no bounds. The first illegal immigrants on this land were a bunch of scoundrels from England. They landed on this land from the Mayflower. and they gave the native residents their English diseases. And later stole their lands with guns and bullets. The local natives, the Indians, stood no chance with their bows and arrows against the fire power of English guns. Yes folks, the Pilgrims were the first illegal immigrants to land here, and the founding fathers were nothing short of hypocrites who owned slaves.
In 1784, five years before he became president of the United States, George Washington, 52, was nearly toothless. So he hired a dentist to transplant nine teeth into his jaw–having extracted them from the mouths of his slaves.

It seems that Mitt is the “might as well” candidate. As in “might as well” vote for him since all the rest of the GOP field is significantly flawed. It remains to be seen, however, if Mitt can carry the evangelical vote. In her 2008 article related to Mitt Romney and the 2008 VP slot entitled “Evangelicals against Romney: it’s all about religion” Cindy Moorehead, a Mormon herself, an Ohio newspaper, The Courier, wrote “Some evangelicals just don’t want a Mormon anywhere close to the White House. They object to the legitimacy that would give the LDS Church, which they see as a heretical cult. It doesn’t matter that most LDS beliefs and values parallel those of evangelical Christianity; to some, the differences are what matters.” I am strictly against any religious test for office and believe the best person should win. However, with evangelicals making up such a significant portion of the GOP base, it will be interesting to see if they circle the wagons around Harvard graduate, Mormon, formerly pro-choice ex-governor from massachusetts, Mitt Romney.

The problem of over 11 million illegal aliens residing in the United States was caused by a lack of the Federal Government doing its job and enforcing the law. The Federal Government needs a President and Congress that will enforce the law of the land. Deport all illegal aliens. Fine anyone who hires an illegal aliens and secure the border. That is the law.

Galactus888 | September 28, 2011, 10:34 pm 10:34 pm “Deport all illegal aliens. Fine anyone who hires an illegal aliens and secure the border. That is the law”… Does this mean you’re leaving? If your birth certificate doesn’t say “Native American” you’re illegal!!

Perry’s acceptence of illegal aliens didn’t help him but his ties to the evangelical tea party may be hurting him. Note Gingrich and Bachmann are near the bottom where tea party evangelicals belong. Of the front runners I’d have to pick Romney. Cain understands the economy but I fear he isn’t up to speed on the other issues. Pity the media is keeping Ron Paul so far down on the polls. He’s actually our best chioce. The only one who wants to take care of the United States instead of every other country on the planet.

The stupidity of liberals knows no bounds!.
There was nothing remotely like a national boundry precluding the pale skinned “Indians” from settling in the North American land.
Unfortunately for the Woolly mammoth, there was nothing keeping out the northern Asians either.
Mexico vigorously enforces their Southern border and so should the U.S.

I see a ticket of Romney/Cain in 2012,,, and it looks like it could be enough.
I voted BO last time and have not been happy with his performance.

I’m glad the GOP electorate has finally begun to weed out the un-intellectual candidates. I was beginning to worry. Perry and Bachman belong in remedial Math, Science and Reading classes to include History. Now I’m beginning to like what I see!

Christie is NOT going to run. How many times does he have to tell you? So GOP voters, you have all your candidates in front of you (unless the Almighty Sarah descends from the Great White North). Your only chance of beating Obama next year is to hold your collective noses and vote for Romney. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you don’t like RomneyCare and some of you alleged Christians don’t like his flavor of Christianity, but do you want a chance to win in November 2012? You’ve seen enough of the pretenders in the debates. Perry isn’t the White Knight you hoped for, so unite behind Romney and focus on WINNING next year.

After the fall of all the GOP crazies, Mitt Romney floats back to the top. Boy, have the Republicans got problems on their hands. They can’t unseat Romney even though they hate him. Guess that is what money will do for you.
Posted by: Bob | September 29, 2011, 8:27 am 8:27 am
Romney has become a professional candidate. In his entire history, he has only won ONE election. And he’s the odds-on favorite to win the GOP nomination. He’s been on both sides of virtually every issue over the last 20 years, so really there’s no telling what kind of president he would make. He’s been both for and against so many things over the years that I’m not sure even HE really knows where he stands on those issues today……..

” If your birth certificate doesn’t say “Native American” you’re illegal!!” –What a crock!!!!! Illegal aliens are, by definition, those who sneaked across the border without proper legal documentation. I am not leaving unless by choice. My birth certificate documents that I was born in the United States. That statement did not even make sense. Anyway, I am glad that Mitt is back on top. I am a Democrat who has never voted for a Republican, but I will vote for Romney. One reason that I would vote for his is his strong stand on illegal aliens.

Well if Mitt Romney gets the nod then we are done .. Mitt will not be able to beat Obama in 2012 and the Obama Administration knows it!! Romney is as bad for this country as Obama is!!

So when Ron Paul is in 3rd place he’s not top tier…but when Herman Cain is in 3rd place hs IS top tier?
Your propoganda is pathetic.

Don’t single out America in your biased conjectures. That was the way of the world back then. Africans sold their own people. Native Americans were killing each other over native America also. They weren’t all basketweaving peace-loving people either. iNo race or nation was without it’s scoundrels. The white man brought prosperity and new means for people to elevate their way of life.

logic101 – Mexico “vigorously” enforces their southern border???!!!! Come on! Why are so many Hondurans and other Latin American aliens coming into the US if Mexico is enforcing its southern border. Mexico can’t enforce anything because they are corrupt and steadfastly in the pocket of the cartels. If they aren’t, they’re dead because the cartels will kill anybody to get the drugs through and get the cash back. They’re not above dragging US states into their war.

Herman Cain is the only man I will vote for and I will write in his name if I have to. I will never vote for a Rino or Obama as they are one and the same.

Romney has my vote and I’m glad that he is not the darling daughter of the GOP. Now he does not have to pander to them. Anyone who arguest that he’s a flip-flopper simply is following the vintage attacks against him without really looking at his record. He is a conservative and he is the only candidate that will compete with Obama for the middle in a general election.
As long as this economy remains stagnant, his candidacy will become more and more appealing because he has the economic turnaround experience and nobody else does who’s running for office. The Dem’s would love Perry to win because he cannot compete for the middle and will lose in a general vote…that’s why they’re sweating bullets over Romney and whomever he chooses as a running mate. Romney/Cain or Romney/Jindall will make great possibilities.
It’s time the GOP stop flip flopping themselves on candidates and get behind someone who has potential like Romney to win this. Stop looking at the next possible candidate! It’s also time that evangelicals get over their religious bigotry and stand behind Romney who shares the same conservative values. Your not voting for a pastor!

EVERYTHING Romney has done, he has done VERY well. He is the smartest one of the bunch. I am relieved to see after 8 years of stupid, the country wont go there again. Finally, FINALLY, we see mto be actually going for the smartest person in the room. About time! Romney has my vote! ……….unless, of course, he puts stupid as his VP. Romney can win so long as you dont saddle him with a Palin!!!!!!

Yeah, he’s perfected the art of being a perpetual candidate, and a professional debater. But he’s only won ONE election in his life………..
Posted by: Searambler | September 30, 2011, 9:26 am 9:26 am
The GOP can’t get behind any one of their candidates and then expect us to vote for their candidate come 2012, fat chance. This election will come down again, to which candidate you like the least. I know I won’t vote for Obama (just like last time) but, the GOP has nothing at this time to offer either. Maybe the day for leadership in this country is long gone and we really are on the decline.
