The Monthly Jobs Report

The monthly jobs report from the Labor Department will be released later this morning revealing the latest unemployment rate, a figure that will weigh heavily on the president as he prepares to outline his much-anticipated jobs report next week.   The current unemployment rate is at 9.1 percent and economists expect today’s report will show that 93,000 jobs were added to the economy last month.   The White House is now predicting that unemployment will likely stay above 9 percent through next year’s election as the president campaigns for a second term.   Later this morning the president will head to Camp David where he will remain until he goes to Paterson, N.J., on Sunday to survey the damage from Hurricane Irene. ??
