For anyone dreaming of spending the day with presidential candidate Mitt Romney, your wish could finally come true.
The Romney campaign launched a contest this evening that will offer one lucky winner a “chance to spend a day campaigning with Mitt” next month.
Flexing its smartphone skills, Romney sent a text message to supporters writing, “Click here for a chance to join me on the campaign trail.”
So what exactly does a day on the campaign trail entail?
According to the fine print, the winner will get a one round-trip coach class plane ticket within the continental U.S. — date and destination to be determined by the campaign — and a one-night stay at a hotel at the mystery destination. Ground transportation will also be provided to the winner. The whole trip would be worth an estimated $1,025, according to the campaign.
And while no contribution is required for entry, Romney’s Facebook page encouraged a $5 donation when entering the promotion.
Twenty-five finalists will be chosen by random drawing at the Romney headquarters in Boston on Oct. 3 and the campaign will then select the winner who best represents “Romney’s support across the country.”
