White House: ‘No Reason Not to Act Now’ on Job Plan

White House Chief of Staff William Daley gave me a quick preview of the president’s speech before tonight’s joint session of Congress.

He told me that most of the ideas President Obama will unveil have had bipartisan support in the past , and, again, said the plan would be fully paid for.

“So the real question for Congress after this proposal is, ‘Will I act and will I act now’ to create jobs and cause some economic growth at a time of great difficulty for many of our fellow citizens.  Not just the political rhetoric of debate,” he said.

“There is no reason not to act now,” Daley said.
