As Romney’s Anti-Perry Website Launches, Harshest Video AWOL

After a soft launch yesterday, the Mitt Romney campaign is out with a new website entirely dedicated to attacking Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

The website, Careerpolitician.com, features many of the attack web videos released  this cycle by the Romney campaign.

One video that was posted and publicized by the campaign yesterday titled, “Ready to Lead,” is gone from the website. The video was a montage of Perry’s poor debate performances.

Andrea Saul, Romney for President spokesperson, in a statement today said:  ”While the use of the CNN clips was fully within our rights under the law, we respect and appreciate the role CNN has played as host in debates over the last several months. For this reason, we are honoring their request to remove the video.”

CNN said in a statement today that it “did not consent to the use of its copyrighted material for this ad, and CNN objects to the use of its talent in any campaign ad.  We respectfully requested that the Romney campaign not use CNN material in their campaign ads and they complied.”

The new website is likely one of the domain names that was purchased by the campaign during the third quarter. Public records show that nearly $3,000 was spent by the campaign on purchases from Internet domain company Godaddy.com.
