Chris Christie will endorse former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for president at an event in Hanover, New Hampshire this afternoon, ABC News has learned.

Christie just last week announced that he would not seek the office himself.

Romney, who is the Republican front-runner, will appear tonight at a Bloomberg / Washington Post debate on the economy with other Republican candidates for president.
