GOP 2012 Political Health Assessment

As the Republican candidates for president go from one debate in New Hampshire to another in Las Vegas, and along the way continue to bash President Obama’s health care reform, it’s a good time to do a candidate health diagnosis and see where things stand.
Let’s take a look at some of the candidates running for president and do a health assessment on where their campaigns and candidacies stand, what shape they are in and what their prospects for continued health are. We have enough data points from tests and procedures done in this campaign, including debates, performance on the trail, and fundraising.
Rick Perry
His candidacy is in serious jeopardy, even though he can afford to pay for the best doctors and check himself into the most prestigious clinics in the country. He seemed when he first got in to be in perfect health and his history seemed to show he had the best ability to rise to the occasion in this race. But the debates showed him to be a flawed candidate, and he inflicted wounds upon himself with poor performances that will be tough to recover from. The question remains whether his defect was congenital and whether it happened to surface under the stress of a presidential race.
Herman Cain
He is a very unlikely leading candidate for president at this point who has tremendous momentum and movement upon the political landscape. He seems to me to be somebody who was wandering through the emergency ward and was mistaken for a serious player, and a doctor gave him a tremendous adrenalin shot. Will he burn out and will the body of his candidacy and campaign structure survive this jolt? This question will be answered soon enough.
Mitt Romney
His candidacy seems to be in decent shape, has passed of all its tests, and continues to perform well through the election cycle, but for some reason doesn’t get the love of the doctors, nurses, and staff of this process. They seem reluctant to give him a clean bill of health and allow him to enter the big general election game because they are worried that his “gut” may be compromised. In the end, if the other candidates fall away, he will be given the go despite those doubts.
Michelle Bachmann
Her campaign seems to be on its last legs. Early on, it seemed she was in it for the long haul, and had great possibility, but she just didn’t have all the elements needed to survive. Her last chance is a hope and prayer that by spending all her time in a regional clinic in Iowa she will get the go-ahead and be able to move on to be judged healthy by other parts of the country. It just may be the diagnosis is terminal for her and we may have to wait for that Iowa clinic to give the final say on what many already believe.
Newt Gingrich
His candidacy was given up for dead months ago, but he has gotten some transfusions and benefited from the failed health of other candidates to give himself an outside possibility of surviving. He doesn’t have the resources other campaigns have, but he performs well at the high-level events of this campaign. He just may be the next candidate to rise and claim the large free floating anti-Romney vote that has moved from candidate to candidate if Cain doesn’t survive his adrenalin shot.
Ron Paul
He is a doctor himself and doesn’t seem to care if the other health professionals in the process judge him unfit. He will continue to be a player in this process, but the health prospects of his candidacy are that while he will likely give himself a clean bill of health, the voters will not. He is in it for the long haul, but will not make it to the big game next November.
Jon Huntsman and Rick Santorum
These two are Bruce Willis in “The Sixth Sense”. They are dead; they just don’t know it yet. Huntsman seems more cognizant that something is off and looks to be realistic, but Santorum, I think, still sees dead people.
On to Las Vegas, with hope and expectations one of these candidates will rise to the occasion and finally take control in this race, but my guess is that many Republicans will again leave feeling only fear and loathing.

Speaking of Ron Paul’s ‘health’ in the literal sense…
Ron Paul is the only Congressman in the history of the Congressional Baseball Games, to have hit a homerun out of the park. The Senate opposes the Congress annually to raise funds for various charities.
On a more recent note, the 76 year old Ron Paul has thrown down th e gauntlet and challenged every other presidential candidate to a 20 mile bike ride, at high noon, in Texas, in 100 degree heat and 100% humidity. So far no takers.

The GOP-controlled House continues to pass abortion legislation while jobs don’t get any attention. It’s clear that the GOP’s aim is to lengthen the pain of the middle class just so that Obama doesn’t get elected. I think Occupy Wall St and Occupy DC ought to march on Washington DC and demand that the Republicans stop pandering to their extreme right wing and start putting Americans back to work. It is not all about the 2012 election at this point in America’s history.

Well, technically, they have been DEBATING more abortion legislation. Legislation that they know for sure, 100%, will not even be considered in the Senate. The Republican agenda in the House is the very definition of ‘exercise in futility’. And they know it. But they will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING necessary to avoid working on job creation policy. They do not want lower unemployment, period.

“GOP Health Assessment” …………. LOL! …….. are you kidding ABC News? The “Republican” name became so tarnished after 8-years of George W. Bush that in 2009 and 2010, they had to come up with a pseudo name for their party, i.e. “Tea Party”, just because it was still too embarrassing to be called a Republican . Some will try to fool others that Tea Party is not the Republican party…. LOL! … yeah, sure. Go ask all of those Tea Party candidates that ran for office with an “(R)” beside their name. But, of course, ignorant Americans bought into the “We’re different” bullogni again.

The GOP is like the wolf in sheep’s clothing. If we have become so stupid as to vote for them again it’s our own fault. Instead of standing behind the president from the start and working together for the good of the country all I see and hear are bickering. No wonder they are marching on Wall Street. This country is going down and belive me it’s not all Pres. Obama’s fault. It’s our fault for not working together and acting like it’s the Yankees v the Red Sox…We are all Americans and we should work with each other for the good of the country, not the constant attacking and bashing. No one seems to have any real solutions, it’s just mudslinging back and forth between both parties. Very sad and scary.

They complain about this president but not one decent candidates, all losers. Work with this president for the good of the country! Instead of standing behind him from day one all I hear is bashing and not one good solution! If we are so stupid to vote the GOP in again, we get what we deserve.

Sea; Yeah not much to pick from….but the way Obama’s going…… Mickey Mouse could redecorate the White House in 2013.

The GOP field is beyond laughable. Really, these people are who you’re going with for 2012??!! What a bunch of delusional idiots! I disagree with Newcountryman — Obama is no worse than the best of these, and will easily retain the WH if this is all the GOP has!

Obama is not a leader. Too much blaming and not enough taking responsibility. I see it. I fear for my country if this guy is a 4 year lame duck.

“Too much blaming and not enough taking responsibility”? That sounds to me like a page taken from the GOP playbook. Especially those currently in Congress. God help us if a Republican wins the Presidency.

I’m writing in an independent. Call me dumb for wasting my vote, but that’s what I’m going to do. Obama is a no brainer.

Can’t say I disagree with that idea.

Romeny is out for me and not because he is a Mormon. He’s out because he has spent the last 30 days courting the GW Bush Administration. He has now gotten the official nod (and $$$$) from: Cheney, Rove, Daniels, Jeb Bush, and last week hired several GW Bush advisors. Romney’s desire to be President is so strong he sold himself to the GW Bush machine. A vote for Romney is a vote to re-elect GW Bush.

LOL, Anything would be better than a repeat of W’s disasterous administration! We’re still trying to clean up all of his messes, and some effects are very likely to be very long-term. He and his puppetmasters should have been impeached for the damage they did to this country and the globe.

The republicans lost all credibility when Mitch McConnell stood on the Senate floor and announced that the only agenda of the GOP was to stop the re-election of this president. He told the truth, the republicans have done nothing but block, delay and obstruct the Congress.
Ther were a hundred ways for the republicans to elect the next president, they have found the one way to lose.

Cheney, Rove, Daniels, Jeb Bush, el al support Romney because .they think he’s the only hope to take the GOP back from the tea party. They’re wrong, Romney panders to the tea party crazies and will never be elected president. He protects and defends the 1% against the 99%.

The Republicanm economic plan is really quite simple: Retutrn to “Robber Baron” capitalism and “wage slavery”. Under these principles the top5% control 95+% of the entire economy and other 95% of people live in a barely getting by to subsisgtence. Theri aim is to turn the USA into a banana republic type 3rd world Country. Read you hr US history–it will scare you to death!!

The Republican policy is Dooh Nibor, not anything to do with jobs… and for all of you right-wingnuts that can’t figure it out… Dooh Nibor is reverse Robin Hood… steal from the poor to give to the rich.

Republican’s offer up an unbelievably LAME field of candidates and just because THEY and their tiny minds THINK that a monkey could beat President Obama, they will be SADLY mistaken. Many voters that have paid attention to what the Republicans have and especially HAVE NOT done over the past 3 years know that President Obama IS our best chance to FIX bush’s mess and to move on to a MUCH better USA! And, unless you’re blind and deaf and have not been paying any attention to what the Republicans REALLY have in mind for the USA, I’ll just refer you back to EVERY plan that ANY of those bozos have come up with. HINT: They ALL include taking AWAY from the Middle-class and GIVING it back to the wealthy while making SURE to NEVER, EVER Raise taxes on them lest they have to do with one less YATCH in their sorry lives.
