Hillary Clinton Mocks Herman Cain
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today took a shot at Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain during a visit to Afghanistan, presumably one of the Central Asian “stan” countries Cain was referring to when he said he didn’t know the names of every foreign leader. Cain said knowing the leader of “small insignificant states around the world” wasn’t necessary for a president.
During a photo op at the top of their meeting in Kabul, Afghan President Hamid Karzai asked Clinton about Cain’s comment earlier this month that he probably won’t know the name of the leader of “Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan.”
“He’s a former pizza company owner,” Clinton told Karzai of Cain.
“Is he that,” Karzai replied.
“Oh yeah, he started something called Godfather pizza,” Clinton said.
“Yes, I see, I see,” Karzai said.
Clinton then turned to U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Ryan Crocker and mocked Cain.
“The president was saying he saw a news clip about how Mr. Cain had said, ‘I don’t even know the names of all these presidents of all these countries,’ you know, like, whatever,” she said, mimicking the candidate dismissively.
“That wasn’t right, but anyway, that’s how politics are,” Karzai said diplomatically.
Clinton is in the middle of a trip that is expected to take her to many of the Central Asian countries Cain was referring to.

That is just quite unprofessional of her.
One good thing about this, though. It certainly points out the character difference between the two.

The candidates for the Republican nomination leave much to be desired. The last CNN debate was a disaster. None of them looked particularly Presidential and I’m left wondering if so many debates is even a good idea for those guys. So learning that Herman Cain can’t be bothered to learn the names of other heads of state isn’t that surprising. I’d have been more surprised if he did.

It is about time that mockery found it’s way into politics again. This political correctness has gone on way too long. Besides, what kind of republican joke is Cain, anyway?? His umbilical cord runs straight to the evil twins, the Koch bros. and his 666 tax plan would be just another way to enrich massively the Evil Rich Class in America.
Oh, by the way, I love it when people mention the 57 state gaffe, since you are STILL bringing that up it means that Obama has this huge track record of NOT saying stupid stuff, ’cause that one is ancient history.
The other think that please me is all these foolish red necks, who would CLEARLY benefit from Obamacare, speak out from their white trash shacks and trailers to protect the very class that is living off of them like a voracious parasite.

According to the comments written here, the indication is that Karzai, of all people, actually has more class than our Secretary of State. This just reinforces the immutable fact that the Peter Principle is alive and well in American Politics. It also indicates the extreme disregard the political elite have for anyone not perceived to be in their rarefied strata of class. To make a comment like this and for ABC to have actually presented it as news is disgusting.

Cain was the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. He was also the CEO of the National Restaurant Association. He was also chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City which covers 6 states. All 3 of these are very comparable to the power of a president of a small country. Afghanistan has a GDP of $25 billion but an operating revenue of around $1.7 billion.
The Federal reserve had an $82 billion dollar profit in 2010 from its 12 regional banks. Herman Cain, as chairmain of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, likely had greater profit in one year than the operating revenue of the country Afghanistan. Herman Cain was chairman in 1995 so the numbers would be different at that time but Afghanistan was even poorer at that time as well and the US was growing at a strong rate.

Herman Cain is the nicest, polite and man of the people candidate I have ever had the pleasure of review. The only reason he may not get the nomination is that the voters have noticed his inexperience in politics mostly at the debates, but who knows, the voters are fed up with the status quo. Hillary used bad judgement in even mentioning him. One of the reasons she was defeated in the primaries was a highly damaging remark after Obama won the South Carolina primary. After that gaffe Obama ran the table in the Southern states. Another statement hurt her in Kentucky. Sure disagree with Cain but also study the past and see where certain tone should be avoided.

And al-awlaki was Bush Era intelligence as well. If Obama had his way, we’d have no military. The guy thinks we have 57 states. My Lord, the double standards are killing me. Herman Cain Has more experience with what is needed in a dire situation than you or the President.
Mr. Cain has turned around 2 failing corporations, launched and succeeded with his own Radio Talk show, (A Better Success than the defunct AIR AMERICA ) . Mr Cain Has a plan that will work by using equality to balance the tax burde. That plan will make everyone have some skin in the game. It will also bring back Manufacturing that has left the U.S. for lower taxes, and increase the base with more jobs and more opportunity.

Spot on Hillary!!…It was a so called “insignificant” nation that let a group of radicals plan and train terrorists to commit 9-11. Yemen is also a so called “insignificant” nation, so is Somalia, yet who dragged members of the U.S. Rangers through their streets. Is the newly created South Sudan, an “insignficant” nation, that was in a brutal civil war. No, Mr. Cain each nation is significant. And what an arrogant thing to say. I know the small kingdom of Bhutan thinks of itself as significant, just as China, Vietnam, Morrocco and every other nation on earth. It is so funny that people cannot disagree with the secretary of state or president, which is fine, but they always have to interject some name calling, which I thought we gave up in 3rd grade. Articulate yourself better, and you will not have to just jump to one word profanity or name calling.

If you can name the leaders of Paraguay, Singapore, Guyana, Mauritius, Laos, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe, Estonia, Finland, and Portugal my hat is off two you. But my money is on a bet that most of you cannot name the leaders of as many as three of the twelve countries named. Cain was telling the truth and Hillary was mocking him inappropriately.

You’d think a worldly and significant mover and shaker like Herman Cain would have learned how important it is to know the names of the people who can make or break your company. His real failing was in allowing the “gotcha” press to do their thing at his expense. Had he been better prepared for this kind of “journihalism, perhaps benefiting from lessons ala Obama’s “57,” and Palin’s many gaffes, there would have been no story about Clinton’s discussion with what’s his name in Afghanistan. He will learn, and if he doesn’t, he will fail. In the meantime, Americans could do better than flaunt their Olympic-sized ignorance.

Cain left himself wide open on that one. He didn’t want to admit he was ignorant on something he needs to know as a president, so he ridiculed it. Hope he doesn’t think Africa is a country like Palin did. Can’t blame Hillary for driving a Mack truck through that open door though. She had a great platform on an international stage to do it from. She has taken plenty of hits in her career and she knows how to dish it. She put him in his place. He’ll have to deal with that if he wants in this game. Don’t you folks realize community organizers are held in much higher regard than are successful ceo’s? Come on. 57 states. Everyone makes a mistake every now and then. Posted by: Salty | October 21, 2011, 10:56 am 10:56 am
My take on 57 states is he did a gaff, payed a political price, but it didn’t cost him the election because thoughtful people were not offended. At least he didn’t make a statement analogous to Cain’s by saying something like “I’ve campaigned in all these silly little states around this country, heck I don’t know how many there are, and who cares anyway?” No, he got the number wrong, it was an honest mistake, and his voters saw that. Cain tried to make arrogance a virtue, instead of being honest, as the corrupt are wont to do.

This statement and action by the Secretary of State of the United States of America is not only unprofessional but elist and embarassing. She knows all the “stan” leaders (currently) as that is HER job. There is NEVER justification of this type of behavior from a representative of our country appointed to look out for the wellbeing of our citizens. YOU can accept this unprofessional lack of judgment but it is unacceptable and she owes the citizens of this nation an apology. First of all, Cain is a political leader aspiring to the highest office. Secondly, as such he made offensive remarks that were brought up not by Hillary, but to Hillary by the leader of one of the key countries he offended, which just happens to be the one where our soldiers are currently sacrificing their lives. It is in the national interest, because it is in the interest of the soldiers who walk that turf at great peril, to keep good relations in that “-stan country”. So, she was serving her country and her country’s soldiers by mocking Cain. His behavior is deserving of harsh criticism in this situation. How’s that for classless?

Is Cain an embarrassment because he doesn’t know all the leaders names or because he mocks them as insignificant? Hillary Clinton attempts to navigate the mind field of foreign policy to cultivate good will for the USA with the rest of the world – including these ‘small countries’ (which we now know will NOT be ignored!) In order to serve and protect our US citizens, should not those who are hoping to be future leaders of the United States ensure they don’t make her job more difficult by belittling and dismissing any foreign nation as insignificant jokes?

It is actually quite frightening to read some of these comments on this website. It truely shows how deep the political boundaries run in this country. It also shows how ignorant and uneducated the American people are when it comes to knowing the facts and making rationale decisions about the direction of our country. Over the past year the political rehetoric has put America back 50 years. Very scary people.

We do not need a new President! We need a new Congress! Get the Country working again!

He’s mock worthy. These teabaggers don’t love Cain either. They just need a black face to criticize the black president. They won’t give President Obama for being tougher on terrorists than Bush was.

Here we go. Another one playing the race card.

Hill…those instructions from Bill about playing the race card were SUPPOSED to be used in your race against Obama.

Name one president or presidential candidate that can name every leader in the “stans”? Yes, Cains comments should have been worded better but hey nice to see someone who is not 100% politically correct.

Cain didn’t “own” the pizza chain, and he didn’t “start it”. He was appointed CEO and “revived” it and
returned it to profitability. Let’s get the story straight at least. POSTED BY: NEWCOUNTRYMAN |

Some of the hatred in these comments is utterly disappointing. Did anyone of you watch the video of what Hillary said? Remember media makes headlines catchy to attract readership, and the story is edited before it is released, reflecting a viewpoint. This story painted a complete different picture than what I saw in that video. She was having a lighter moment with Karzai and US Ambassador, which I found amusing to watch as we rarely see these people unscripted.

I remember talking to Army wives fortunate to see just how arrogant, callous and unconcerned Hillary Clinton was when a required visit to an Army post was on the agenda when she was “first lady”. In her present position, she is a tribute to what is wrong with our country…another politico growing fat at the trough of big government. “Run, Herman, run!!!”

Hillary Hamhocks at a Senate hearing for one of the investigations concerning Travelgate, or White water, or one of the other Clinton years scandals, answered either “I don’t recall” or “I don’t remember” over 50 times. Of course the Lib media would never have shown that on the airwaves. I’ll bet she’s almost forgotten the names of the dozen or so women that Slick Willy was involved with because “it was a vast right wing conspiracy”.
Here’s a scary thought: Biden-Clinton running in 2012.

Hillary is supposed to be a diplomat…i.e., diplomatic. I saw the video and can say the written transcript does not show in the slightest her mocking, dis-respectable, tone. I was appalled that an American diplomat would be so undiplomatic. She is an embarrassment to her country.
