Michelle Obama to Attempt Jumping Jacks World Record
Next week, First Lady Michelle Obama will attempt to jump her way into the record books.
In her campaign to convince American kids that exercise is fun, Mrs. Obama will launch a challenge to break the Guinness world record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.
Tuesday at the White House, the first lady will lead hundreds of local children in a minute of continuous jumping jacks. But to break the record, the “jumper in chief” needs to inspire more than 20,000 people from around the world to get on their feet and join her in a minute of jumping jacks at some point between 3 p.m. Oct. 11 and 3 p.m. Oct. 12.
The “ Let’s Jump!” initiative is being led by National Geographic Kids.
