Romney Calls Perry Hunting Camp Name ‘Offensive’
In a radio interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity today, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was asked what he thought about the name of a hunting camp in Texas leased by Gov. Rick Perry and known to some as “Niggerhead.”
“I follow it from afar,” Romney said. “You know I think it’s offensive.”
“I think most people recognize it’s offensive. And with regards to what involvement the Perry folks had with this … situation, well that’s something to address to Gov. Perry, obviously.”
The Perry campaign has argued that the rock on which the name appeared had been painted over and that the family had taken “quick action to cover and obscure it.”
