Supreme Court to Discuss Health Care Law Nov. 10

The Supreme Court will meet behind closed doors Nov. 10 to discuss challenges to the health care law. The conference will mark the first time the justices consider whether to grant one of the five pending petitions regarding issues such as the constitutionality of the individual mandate and the severability of the law.

At conference, the court could decide to grant one of the pending cases (or a consolidation of two) or it could decide to holdover the matter for a future conference.

Under normal circumstances, if the court grants a case by early January the matter should be heard this term and decided by early summer.
