The Jobs Bill: Is a ‘Tragic’ Vote Looming?

This evening the president will finally get what he’s been demanding for over a month:  a vote on his jobs bill.

David Plouffe said today on “Good Morning Americ a” that it would be “a tragedy” if the bill fails to pass.

The good news for the White House:   The president has finally prodded the Democratically-controlled Senate to act on his top priority.

The bad news:  The bill will almost certainly be rejected.

Not only will the bill fail to get the 60 votes needed to pass, it may fail to even get a simple majority.   Democrats have a three-seat majority in the Senate.  As many as five Democrats are expected to vote no on the bill.
