First Lady Michelle Obama to Be NASCAR Grand Marshal

“Gentlemen, start your engines!”

Famous words soon to be uttered by … Michelle Obama?

Yep. The NASCAR season is coming to an end, and first lady Michelle Obama will help preside over its final race of 2011 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20. She and Dr. Jill Biden, as part of their efforts through Joining Forces — a group that helps military families — will serve as grand marshals at the championship Chase for the Sprint Cup finale, the Ford 400.

In a statement, the White House says: “As part of the season-ending NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship race, NASCAR will rally its millions of fans at the speedway and online to serve military families through the holiday season by asking them to visit www.NASCAR.com/Unites and JoiningForces.gov to find service opportunities and ideas to give back to those who serve our country.”

Generally, Michelle Obama’s name has not been connected to NASCAR, but the first lady’s work for military families ties in nicely with the event.

And of course, as a nice added bonus, Florida is kind of important in 2012 politics.

Don’t for 1 second be surprised if she is booed loudly. She said up until hubby was elected she had never felt pride towards America Her husband is a gutless fool and she is a loser.Get Lost OBAMAS

Steve she didn’t say that.

First of all her ‘hubby’ hadn’t been elected when she said that. So really, before you condemn someone you really should do some research and not be lying.

Second of all . . . it was a quote taken out of context to begin with. Anybody who thinks this was the first time she was proud of her country is a fool trying to exploit the stupid and the intellectually vulnerable for political gain.

You’re right… the actual first time she was proud of her country was when the University of Chicago paid her over $300K for a job that was so valuable… they replaced her with…. no one…when she left.

Oops, wrong again Michelle Shu Jas . . . but who cares about truth or accuracy when you’re attacking the President or the First Lady?

“According to the couple’s 2006 income tax return, her salary was $273,618 from the University of Chicago Hospitals”

NASCAR is digging it’s own grave by having anything to do with an Obama or Biden reguardless of the fact that they are there for military families. If Obama/Biden get a second term NASCAR will not survive.

The bad economy which hurts ticket sales has already put 2 oval tracks in TN out of business. It would not surprise me to see a 2nd term EPA force them to run electric cars which will either go too slow, or will have to pit every few laps to get recharged. The fans will not be interested in that.

NASCAR needs to get on board with the Anybody But Obama crowd.

I guess it helps your cause when you selectively pick the facts you use to dispute others… even your vaunted factcheck.org says “She went from earning $121,910 in 2004 as an executive director at the hospital to making $316,962 in 2005 as a vice president, according to tax returns filed by the Obamas for those years.” Might want to have the IRS check into things….. according to your assertions maybe Michelle was not reporting all her income?
.
How is it that these DEMOCRAT first ladies like Michelle and Hillary get these MASSIVE “income opportunities” when their husbands get elected…. I guess it gives them something to be proud of.

Sure, but if you researched further in the same factcheck article, you would have read “the nearly $317,000 figure is “misleading” anyway because it includes more than just her salary. . . the figure “also includes a performance bonus, a one-time signing bonus (she had other, competing offers at the time), and a one-time mandatory payout from a terminated retirement plan.” This is reflected in the fact that her 2006 earnings were less than in 2005.”

Again, accuracy and the truth are important even when your obvious sole mission is to attack the President and the First Lady.

I would have thought better of NASCAR than to have an America hating Marxist as a Grand Martian for anything related to the themselves. NASCAR does not represent marxism and marxism doesn’t represent NASCAR. Shelly brings nothing but a great discredit to NASCAR and the nation, even more so for her husband Barry. Still, if the two want to kiss each other butts, they only soil each other.

NASCAR will loose thousands of fans if m obama is allowed to be grand marshal at the Homestead race. m and b obama have nothing but contempt for OUR Military, the United States and our way of life.

Michelle Obama, did, in fact make that comment about not being proud of her country until her hubby was nominated (not elected). Here are her words: “What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something — for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I’ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it’s made me proud.” If you are going to argue about being accurate, make sure your argument can stand up under scrutiny. I went to the actual video footage and an ABC News article about it from back in February 2008. Moving on, this woman is clearly doing this for votes so that she and her husband can finish the job they have started, which is to completely flush this country down the toilet. So, how’s that hopey/changey thingy workin’ out for y’all??

Do people actually prefer Barbara Bush, the woman who was so full of resentments, the woman who was more overtly racist in her comment that “she loves all her grandchildren, even the brown ones”.

Just goes to show how tone deaf Obama et al are. Southerners don’t suffer fools very well and know that the veterans issue they promote is merely a phony campaign ploy. They also know that Obama won’t let Boeing move to South Carolina thus denying jobs in the region with which they would hired vets anyway. In addition, they know that Obama is fighting their attempt to deal with the over run by illegal immigrants in ferderal court. Southerners respect the country and the office of the presidency. They don’t respect the man who is now president and his policies. And finally, who can forget Mrs Obama’s comment that she was not proud to be an American and Mr Obama’s recent comments that Americans are soft and lazy. Southerners call it square not like the squishy Northerners.

No-the NASCAR people don’t have some brains-not unless they would also rudely boo a Republican president’s wife. Don’t you morons realize that it doesn’t matter WHICH party you’re talking about? Politicians these days seem to have no dignity or morals or intelligent ideas-they are ALL slimey! Only a fool still believes one party or the other has the country’s best interest at heart. They are an embarassing bunch of arseholes who can’t get anything done unless it somehow benefits them personally. Our founding fathers must be rolling in their graves.

I don’t think I’ve ever read such vile nonsense. The Bible (remember that?) tells us to respect our leaders and to pray for them. Please, turn off the FOX and get some true news elsewhere. You might learn something. Shame on you NASCAR rude fans. Try Factcheck.com or Politifact.com.
You’ll find out your vitriol is ignorant and baseless.

Any working class person voting for a republican is like a chicken voting for Col. Sanders

It seems the folks in the south can be feed almost anything hateful and they will believe it. Like this country was not screwed up before the Obamas were elected. The southern states have elected republicans to lead them the last 50 years and let’s take a look at their per capita income, education ranking and industry? All in the bottom ranking of the 50 states. So keep on booing, keep on hating, the laugh is on the southern folks in the end.

Free speech liberals. Just like all the horrible things said personally about the Bush family,Cheney family,Palin Family, Rumsfeld family ,etc… The liberals have called these NASCAR fans “tea baggers” by the president, said their Representatives were “holding the nation hostage” by Biden, their policies were to kill grandma, and have women die in the street from lack of heathcare. Suddenly these 2 liberal women show up, on championship day, campaigning for their husbands, and you want these people to say “yes sir, may I have another”? Just like your precious Occupy Wall Street people, FREE SPEECH. Get over it.

It is scary how many people listen to Fox news and listen to the extremely dangerous radio shows. People pay no attention to facts the just want to believe what they here. Obama or Ron Paul in 2012 or bust. Paul is the only one that never waivers from his stance. I believe OUR president is trying to do the right things. Nascar is a red neck sport but I always thought they were Americans first. To boo the 1st lady and Mrs. Biden is unacceptable and they should be ashamed of themselves. We are all Americans and we need to respect our elected officials. We do need to have term limits of 4 years on all of congress and 6 years as president. No elected official could run for a 2nd. term.

Posted by: fresh d | November 20, 2011, 9:11 pm 9:11 pm

Not surprised at the booing. , but you gotta admire her fortitude. The crowd that booed her is in the group that did not in ’08 and probably will not in ’12 vote for President Obama. But we are not overly worried.

Posted by: BN4Real | November 20, 2011, 9:14 pm 9:14 pm

I am no fan of Obama or Biden, but I am also no fan of rudeness. Silence would have been the appropriate response to their presence being announced…and would have had a greater impact.

Posted by: Martha | November 20, 2011, 9:27 pm 9:27 pm

Funny that even as she and the second lady announced the start of the race while standing next to a REAL American Hero… Got BOOOD! Ha Ha! I LOVE IT!

Hey, this is great! Imagine the odds of this happening.
Do you know the park in NYC that the Wall Street protesters are occupying?
Zucotti Park.
DId you know this park is not owned by the city?
It is owned by Brookfield Properties.
Who was just hired by Brookfield Properties as an attorney?
Vice President Joe Biden’s son.
Who sits on the board of Brookfield Properties?
Mayor Bloomberg’s live in girlfriend.
Now, guess what company just recieved some of the last of the Obama Stimulus $$$$$$$.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaat’s right, Brookfield Properties.
Isn’t life great!
Hey, on a completely unrelated note, Wisconsin is shaping up to be the swing state in the 2012 presidential elections. Not Florida . Not Ohio . But Wisconsin .

Now, guess who owns the company that will be tabulating the electronic votes in Wisconsin .
Thaaaaaaaaaaaat’s right, the biggest contributor to Obama, George Soros. Whaaaaaaaat a coincidence!
Remember what Stalin said. “He who votes does not have power. He who counts the votes has power”.

Well, I, too, am not fond of either of them, but I don’t think that I would boo them and I feel that it was improper for the crowd to do it. Yes, I feel that it did not help NASCAR much for them to be there at this particular time. However, NASCAR has it’s privileges in choosing their Grand Marshall’s. It was very nice gesture that the Military and their families were recognized before the beginning of the race.

The second I saw her at the race I knew she would get booed
You can’t fool a NASCAR fan…We know she was only pandering for votes
G.W.BUSH got a standing ovation at Texas stadium during the world series.

What is she doing at NASCAR anyway.
Her husband Barry Soetoro has been on vacation,
He has shown zero interest in the Supercommittee failure.
Over his head, inept, and out of his league.
Community organizers don’t make good presidents.
Anyone but Obama in 2012 ! ! ! ! !
