Presidential Planner: Jobs, Vets and Country Music

Back from his nine-day trip through the Asia-Pacific, President Obama will spend the day focusing on jobs, veterans and country music.

The president will sign legislation into law this morning that will provide tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans. “The president believes that no veteran who fought for our country should have to fight for a job when they come home,” according to the White House.

The first lady, vice president and Jill Biden will also attend.

The president will meet privately in the afternoon with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. The inability of the “super committee” to reach a deficit-cutting proposal will no doubt be a topic of conversation.

The president and first lady will host a celebration of country music tonight at the White House as part of their “In Performance at the White House” series.
