Rick Perry Flubs Voting Age and Election Date
EmailMANCHESTER, N.H. – Rick Perry made two mini-gaffes today in the same sentence when he suggested the voting age was 21 and erred on the date of the election.
“Those of you that will be 21 by November the 12th, I ask for your support and your vote. Those of you that won’t be, just work hard,” Perry said at a town hall at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm’s.
But in 1971, the 26th amendment lowered the voting age from 21 to 18.
And as far as the election goes, Perry missed the date by nearly a full week. Voters across this country will cast their ballots for president on Nov. 6, 2012.
Oops.

Now THIS is just a mis-speak. These guys (and gal) have so much on their minds that dates and numbers can be easily confused. This is QUITE different than flubs made by Bachmann and Cain. Their’s is ignorance.

Well, maybe in Texas the voting age is 21 and they intend to vote on Nov. 12. The rest of us will be voting on the 6th.
