Gingrich Tells ABC News: ‘I’m Going to Be The Nominee’

abc tapper gingrich 111201 wb Gingrich Tells ABC News: Im Going to Be The Nominee

ABC News

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — A very confident New Gingrich asserted to ABC News Thursday afternoon that he will be the Republican presidential nominee.

“I’m going to be the nominee,” the former Speaker told ABC News. “It’s very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high I’m going to be the nominee.”

The bold assertion came after Gingrich refused to criticize the Republican challengers who have begun attacking him and his record.

TAPPER: “How do you respond to Republicans who say if you don’t draw distinctions with Mitt Romney and others who are attacking you, if you don’t point out their perceived vulnerabilities, Barack Obama and the Democrats sure aren’t going to share that same reluctance and you are doing Obama a favor by staying positive?”

GINGRICH: “They are not going to be the nominee. I don’t have to go around and point out the inconsistencies of people who are not going to be the nominee. They are not going to be the nominee.”

TAPPER: “You are going to be the nominee?”

GINGRICH: “I’m going to be the nominee. It’s very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high I’m going to be the nominee. And by the way I don’t object if people want to attack me, that’s their right. All I’m suggesting that it’s not going to be very effective and that people are going to get sick of it very fast. And the guys who attacked each other in the debates up to now, every single one of them have lost ground by attacking. So they should do what they and their consultants want to do. I will focus on being substantive and I will focus on Barack Obama.”

I heard him speak 2 days ago. This guy does not come across at all like the media portrays him. He is really bright, articulate, funny, and not the least bit abrasive. I dont care if the guy had 6 wives and has a million $ credit line at Tiffany. If he can fix this economy, I am all in. I voted for Obama-I really believed he could fix (Silly me!) some of the problems in Wash. Not only did he not fix them, he brought class warfare into the mix and now has Americans facing Americans. He talks “jobs” but when he has a real opportunity to create some, like the pipeline, he cant pull the trigger. There is no leadership from the Oval Office-the guy sits on his hands while the Super Committee falls apart. Fool me once-OK-not twice.

THIS IS SAD. IF HE WINS THE REPUB NOMINATION, I WILL NOT VOTE. I WANTED ROMNEY IN AND WILL STILL ROOT FOR HIM. NEWT’S NOMINATION IS A GUARANTEE THAT OBAMA WILL WIN AGAIN, UNFORTUNATELY. WHY ARE THE REPUBLICANS SO STUPID ON THIS ISSUE?!?!?!? I’M AN INDEPENDENT. ROMNEY IS THE GUY TO BEAT OBAMA BUT THE STUPID REPUBS ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH HIM–WHY?!? SO, THEY PICK ANY TOM, DICK AND HARRY–NEW GINGRICH–AND WE ALL LOSE. HOW STUPID IS THAT?

“All too often arrogance accompanies strength, and we must never assume that justice is on the side of the strong. The use of power must always be accompanied by moral choice”…..Theodore Bikel And there lyes the problem for Newt, he has shown time and again his lack of moral choice. Do you really believe the moral majority of the GOP will vote for him? Be honest. That is just the tip of the iceberg, he has so much baggage he could sink the Titanic.

11/6/98, upon election “surprise” reducing GOP’s House majority, Speaker GingRich resigns (1995-98), “amid ethics complaints” –CNN. He frames decision as: “I’m not willing to preside over people who are cannibals;” >90% Republicans voted to reprimand him. Wikipedia’s bio: “84 ethics charges were filed against Speaker … sanctioned $300,000 [after mercy plea, for] inaccurate information supplied … “intentional or … reckless” disregard of House rules … lied to the ethics panel.” See, “Newt in His Own Words: 33 Years of Bomb-Throwing.”

“…he brought class warfare into the mix …”

Anybody who claims Obama brought in class warfare either has a very biased selective memory or hasn’t been paying attention for the last 30 years. Republicans have been actively engaging in class warfare by shoveling wealth up the income ladder since Reagan at least.

Posted by: numbers | December 1, 2011, 5:31 pm 5:31 pm

Ron Paul may or may not be electable, but I would rather support someone who may lose, but who’s integrity is above reproach than vote for someone who is considered electable whose values you don’t share. Even if he won, you would be the real loser.

Posted by: john locke | December 1, 2011, 5:31 pm 5:31 pm

How cute. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. He may get the nomination but he will never be President. President Obama will be re-elected. If these Republican candidates are the best the GOP has to offer as potential leader that party is doomed. They have called a huge voting bloc “Un-American”, “Dangerous”, “Ignorant” and Mr. Gingrich told them to get a job and take a bath. Mr. Cain insulted the new largest minority group by saying he would build an electric fence on the southern border. Rep. Bachman the family woman would think twice to ripping a family apart. Not to mention Congressional Republicans have been a complete failure in leadership. They were voted into power in the House to improve things. They have not passed a single piece of legislation that they can point to and say see we helped with the Recovery. They have not helped a single American keep their home. They have not passed a bill that helped open a new business or prevent one from closing. I am in my new home because of President Obama. The auto and banking industries did not collapse because of President Obama….What have Republicans done? Because of the ineptness of the GOP candidates and the complete failure to do their jobs in Congress. The Republicans will not win the White House they will lose control of the House and seats in the Senate including Mass.

Jed, my 401 K is double what it was when Bush left office, and things are looking better all the time despite Repubs attemtps to sabotage EVERY step towards economic recovery, even if it involved destroying our credit rating.

Obama worked with other world leaders to get us out of an economic black hole YOUR lovely party had steered us into. The party of no will not be forgotten next year.

Posted by: Guido Fox | December 1, 2011, 5:54 pm 5:54 pm

Hello Christine Dauzat, anybody home? You talk about bankrupt! Have seen what Obama has done to the country?Bush’s worst deficit, which was accrued with a full Democratic congress (both the Senate and the House completely owned by the liberal Democrats), was around 420B. With Obama we have accrued nearly 6T in less than 3 years. I know liberals have a hard time with math, but this is simple arithmetic. Can you add and subtract? Obama is bankrupting the nation. Get a clue!

Posted by: Don | December 1, 2011, 6:01 pm 6:01 pm

“I know liberals have a hard time with math, but this is simple arithmetic…”

How about this simple arithmetic: Obama has added between 1 and 2 trillion dollars in NEW spending [over financial obligations left over from from previous administrations]. By comparison Bush added over 5 trillion dollars in new spending.

Hey abc stop blocking freedom of speech for Ron Paul supporters let our comments be heard.

Posted by: pete | December 1, 2011, 6:09 pm 6:09 pm

I remember when Newt Gingrich and his band Republicans came to power under the guise of a “Contract for America” in 1994, promising “the end of government that is too intrusive, and too easy with the public’s money”.but after he won the Congress, he and his ilk delivered the biggest spending increases and the biggest expansion of government entitlements since Lyndon Johnson, along with the socialization of education , the Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory burden and the now unconstitutional McCain-Feingold restriction on political speech. Then, after being a key congressional figure leading the fight against Bill Clinton’s sex scandal, it turns out he’s one colossus hypocrite by doing the same thing. I’ll never forget that! If you could callously cheat against those around you and not feel guilty about it, it’s no telling what that arrogance would lead to.

Posted by: blind spot | December 1, 2011, 6:13 pm 6:13 pm

Guido Fox, WOW, what a warped mind! At every measure things are much worst today. The world is out of an economic blakc whole!!! WOW!! Do you read the news? The world is in terrible shape because of liberal/leftwing policies and that is what Obama is doing. Good Lord, the leftwings live in a parallel delusional world! Either that or they don’t read the news. The numbers of Obama in every economic metric is worst today than three years ago. I usually list them, but it is a wast of time with the left. They don’t know for example, the difference between a yearly deficit of 420B (which is real bad) with a 2T yearly deficit (which is Obama’s record). Good Lord, where do these leftwings live? In a liberal phantasy world!

Posted by: Liberty Now | December 1, 2011, 6:21 pm 6:21 pm

Yes Fandaelis, I do read the news, and from INTERNATIONAL sources, including the Financial TImes. Le Monde, and the Economist, not just Fox News. And no the world is NOT in worse shape than it was as it plummeted towards a black hole three years ago. At that point even right wing economists were freaking that maybe the very fabric of capitalism, the trust in credit, was breaking down. What planet were YOU on three years ago, if you missed it? And the fact is Bush spent like a drunken sailor compared to Obama, but never wanted to raise the revenue to pay for it. Which is what we are doing right now.

I would rather see a man that has been married to his wife many, many years, a solid track record in his years in politics and his honesty to the American people, presiding in the White House. We as american citizens have had our rights and liberties slowly stripped from us by those whos hearts were not for Freedom or Liberty or Compassion. Due to the lack of info at hand in the past. Today we have at our fingertips the ability to research and see for our selfs. Do we want an Honest man or another plastic fake????Ron Paul hears the cry from all of us- We The People, from East coast to West coast, from the north borders to the south boarders for FREEDOM and LIBERTY and WE THE PEOPLE and The Constitution to be #1 To be in the seat of power of our country, we need an HONEST Man.

He was in a relationship with a woman other than his wife at the same time that he was trying to impeach president Clinton for the exact same thing! He was charged with 84 counts of corruption by his own Congress and forced to resign by his own party. He made 1.6 million in consulting fees from Fannie Mae just weeks before they went bankrupt and were bailed out with our hard earned money! He made 37 million off of our broken health care system through what can best be characterized as crony capitalism. Every wonder why your drugs and medical visits cost so much? Thank NEWT! This is the same guy that supported carbon credit trading and the global warming myth! For God’s sake he aired a TV ad with Nancy Pelosi supporting the disastorous CAP AND TRADE. How in the world could anyone vote for this corrupt lying scumbag?

Wow…an awful lot of people apparently have forgotten about the 2010 Mid-Term “Sheclacking” (in Obama’s words). They’ve also forgotten that the people promised that was Part 1 of the purge, with Part 2 coming in 2012 for the people who weren’t running in 2010. The largest outing of a party in 70 years.
Well, apparently the WH and Dem controlled Senate (tabling the House bills without even a debate..Harry Reid-d) have made things so much better that people will surely vote differently this time, right?
:-)

Newt, of course, did not take the bait. By the way, would it make sense for him to run (or any one) if he thought he would not win? Obama is already claiming he’s going to win the general election!

lukejohn, EVERY international commentator has been very clear that our credit rating drop was the result of the Teapublicans saying we could default on our debts for political gain. And that increased the cost of our debt.

The fact is that Obama is picking up Bush’s insane overeating tab. And so are we.

Obama’s new policy spending? About 1.2 billion. Bush’s 4.2 or thereabouts. And with added tax cuts and increased unemployment so less money is coming in. I hope your wife balances the budget in your house.

@Guido Fox

Hate to tell you this but most of the people in this country are STILL very much in that “black hole”. Obama could have done something about jobs so easily in his first year or two when he had COMPLETE control but no, he chose to ram his agenda down our throats instead.

If his policies are allowed to continue we’ll soon be so much deeper down that hole that we’ll be wising we were back where we are today.

Obama is now equaling the DISAPPROVAL rating that Carter had at this stage of his presidency. He is also way BELOW the APPROVAL rating that “disliked” presidents like Bush Snr and Jr had and way below where Nixon was at this stage.

Right now I’m on the AOBO camp – AnyOne But Obama

Any of the current Republican Candidates would be an infinitely better leader in this time of trouble and frankly I really don’t care much about Newt’s PAST personal life – At least we KNOW what he did which is a LOT more than we can say about Obama.

No chance, no way, no how. Newt has burned too many bridges and has made everyone across the aisle an enemy and many on his side enemies. Here is a new #1 candidate for all you GOP voters who need to be told who to vote for. He’s got #1 next to his name, he’s got to be a winner. Flush your crap polls and let your actual constituency decide, who knows, you might find someone that is actually popular and likeable for the country instead of preying on uneducated faith votes you can legitimately restore your status as the Grand Old Party.

Can you imagine Obama, with his record spending and failed economic policies, trying to go one-on-one with Newt in the debates? Obama’s only hope is that Americans will have amnesia on the day of the election. Newt’s already challenging Obama to the old-fashioned style of debating. Obama’s people will avoid that like the plague. Obama doesn’t have the stones/brains/humility to do battle like that with someone like Newt. Short of an on-stage stoke, Newt would absolutely wipe the floor with the soon-to-be one-termer, Barack.

Newt is insane to believe we will support his standing with the soon-to-be-arrested Nancy Pelosi, and his DC insider status. I’d rather have a welder from St. Louis be the republican nominee than insider Newt. Common sense is way ahead of the DC-stupified plunderers known as democrats.

As a one-time liberal out here in CA where my former party has destroyed our hopes and dreams, destroyed our jobs, our economy, our futures, destroyed our children’s futures, I realize we need someone like Romney to get our economy going again for President, not someone like Gingrich who’s still part of Obama’s wide-ranging criminal organization AKA DC insiders.

Posted by: Miguel | December 1, 2011, 6:55 pm 6:55 pm

Cody…you’re the real forgiving type, huh? Romney decides what his position is after his people tell me what the latest polls said. That’s not leadership. Newt has what Obama never had…brains AND real experience.

And this man also calls himself Mr. Conservative. Basically he is a big government New World Order globalist who is pro government health care, pro carbon taxes, pro NAFTA/GATT, believes that the UN is greater than America, pro bailouts, and more and more and more. The only reason he is doing well in the polls is because the media is pushing him and that he sounds like Ron Paul. Of course he wants to region in the Federal Reserve. Another lie. Ron Paul for president or more tyranny whether its Obama, Newt, Romney, Perry, Cain, Bachmann, and etc.

Jack, and all of you Ron Paul supporters, I have news for you, Ron Paul will never win the GOP nomination. Furthermore, if run as independent, he will finish last! Why? He is quite liberal on many issues. he is certainly not conservative. He is libertarian. And his views on terrorism are wacko! He blames USA for 9/11 and he thinks terrorist had a right to an attorney, as Obama does. He is liberal in so many issues. The only right thing about him: fiscally conservative.

What an egomaniac…. just what we need in the White House… another know-it-all, muppet.

Guess what Newt… we’ve got several months before the primaries… and Ron Paul and his rabid supporters are going to deep six any hope you think you might have… by simply pointing out your hypocritical record. You co-opted the Republican revolution of the 90′s and you’re back to do it again…. the same mouth-breathers you fooled the first time around, are falling all over themselves to get behind you again…. but guess what, your numbers are shrinking… your core base is evaporating… and pretty soon, like your fellow consummate insider, Arlen Specter… you’ll be running to the Democratic party… where you belong.

Newt: If you are the one, please do not kowtow to the leftist media that kowtows to Obama. Think about all the alternative media sources now that despise the leftist mainstream media for not doing their jobs. They are a part of the problem. If they had asked Obama some hard questions, maybe things would be different. They don’t get a pass on this. Ignore them and rely on the truth tellers. And don’t get tricked into doing some good deeds for the liberals. They never appreciate it and will stab you in the back as soon as they can.

Yes we all know deficits and debt are increasing, but remember: this is only a problem for Republicans when a Democrat is in the White House. Bush did not list all of his spending in the budgets, the financial crash increased deficits dramatically as revenues fell and pressure on public services increased, and any current administration cannot simply disregard previous financial obligations.

Sorry. I will NEVER vote for someone simply to keep O’Bummer from being re-elected. And I’m certainly not voting for Ging-R-I-C-H. The man’s been a career politican almost forever. But what are his specific plans for fixing this country? I mean REALISTIC plans and strategies, not some pie-in-the-sky thing that will simply appeal to voters prior to the actual election, only to be dismissed after.

If O’Bummer wins a second term, it’s only because Republicans and other so-called conservatives are too self-absorbed in their own petty issues and are going to be swayed by the candidate who can lie to the greatest number of them.

Sorry. I will vote for Ron Paul. His views may only agree with mine at 60-65%, but that’s better than 40% for just about any other condidate at any government level, regardless of party, over the past 35 years. We need about 300 more realists like him or this country will just shrivel up and imitate the Greek, Roman, Mayan and countless other long-forgotten empire. Look at where the Dumbs and Repugs have gotten us to now, after 150 years in see-saw power. That’s about how long it’s been since there’ve only been the two parties.

Jake, is anyone running for president on the Democrat side? Like Barack Obama? You see, I’m still waiting for some in-depth reporting on Candidate Obama. Specifically, he needs to explain the history of his involvement in the following.

Solyndra, Beacon Power, cozying up to the lawbreakers of OWS, the much-vaunted stimulus package that was supposed to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent–but didn’t, Obamacare and CLASS, the screwing of the Chrysler bondholders, “shovel-ready” jobs that were not as shovel-ready as he hoped they’d be (he said with a chuckle), the NLRB and Boeing, failure to throw the book at the New Black Panther Party for Election Day misconduct, Operation Fast and Furious, the idiocy of attempting to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in federal court, nonsensical promises about Guantanamo, the infamous Apologizing for America tours…and on and on and on.

Anytime you’re ready to have a sit-down with Obama, Jake, I’ll watch it. Or have you not noticed that Obama ALSO is running for office?

Obama’s dwindling number of backers really are clueless, I believe, just how loathed and unpopular their guy’s become. The conservative majority is merely vetting the candidates, seeking one it can rally around…and when that happens, that person will be the next President. It’s as simple as that, and the Obamaniks know it. They are insecure, and every post they make betrays that, all the more. Obama is in deep, serious trouble, and it’s only getting worse for him, by the day.

lmfao…ok ok…

it’s 12/1/11 and Newt has officially peaked thanks to his arrogant gloating about barely being ahead in some polls finally.

First of all, he’s to the left of Romney on at least 4 issues that are in the top tier of importance this cycle

Second of all, he’s only ever made his living in government, around government, about government or in academia, thereby talking about government.

I like Newt, but he’s far more effective advocating for or against things than he as an actual official with tangible power.

Besides, we want to win and Romney’s the only one who will beat Obama. Newt brings nothing new. He’s a lifelong pol; he plays for pay; he is on multiple sides of every issue. He’s pompous, and arrogant. Plus, he’s a professor. We have that in the Oval Office right now….it’s not good.

And his record… haha… he’s trying to take credit for the accomplishments of other presidents simply by virtue of his being present in some level of government during their tenures. For instance, he cliamms he convinced Reagan to be a supply sider; rofl, it was Jack Kemp alone. Also, he takes credit for Clinton balancing the budget and achieving welfare reform…..uh, Newton, Uncle Bill ran on those issues, sorry chubs.

But, hey, if conservatives rather vote for angry rhetoric and arrogance, have fun and we’ll see if they l earn their lesson after Obama gets a second term.

Posted by: Declan | December 1, 2011, 8:23 pm 8:23 pm

What’s funny is that Obama does not have to debate Newton and probably will not and if at all in all probability only debate him once – short and concise – not more than 90 minutes. Newton will simply implode and his head explode for lack of Obama-care. Obama will care less about Newton and will defeat him by laughing and mocking him and making him the laughing stock of the charade that we will have for elections.

I will vote for Ron Paul or hopefully for a Palin / Paul ticket with a third party option.

Gingrich is a legend in his own mind. Ron Paul was against Fannie, Freddie and the Fed before they destroyed the economy. He was against TARP, Stimulus (all of them) and the bailouts after they destroyed the economy. Ron Paul is a doctor, a vet, a principled defender of Constitutional government and right on the economy. Democrats, then Republicans, then Democrats again controlled the government. Time for Ron Paul who is beholden to neither party.

Romney is our only hope, yet all he gets is talk as if he is an outsider.
People like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News know that if Obama is re-elected, their paychecks stay big as oppositional pundits. Getting an unelectable Republican candidate like out of the range of appeal to moderates and independents is what they want. That is why they support Newt.
And, then there is the “social, family values” GOP supporter who is crazy about philanderers like Newt and corrupt politics ,and woud choose them over the straight as an arrow, no scandal , married to one woman for 40+ year Mitt!
It shows how unfair and hypocritical they are. The “family values” conservatives hold Romney’s gravest sin was that he was once supported abortion and gay marriage and now agrees with them. “You changed your position to ours! So we hate you!” As if they have never changed their position on anything. And now, to top it all off they forgive and support an atrocious pompous snake like Newt that is carrying more baggage then a extra wide U-haul.

Wow…Just wrap up the White House and give it to Obama with a big red bow.

You apparently weren’t around when President Obama took on the entire Republican caucus, just him alone against all of them – and he wiped the floor with the Republicans. It was so thorough, Faux News cut away from the affair because their toadies were getting dealt with by a master, and made to look petty and uninformed.

Again, a liberal who doesn’t understand math. Based on your comment, in 8 years Bush added 5 trillion. In two Obama has added two. Doing the math after 8 years Obama will have added 8 trillion, 60% more than Bush.

Newt Gingrich is the smartest person I have ever had the privilege of listening to. He has highly evolved ideas and proposes reasonable and human solutions. I believe he will be our next President. You haters can say anything you want and it will not affect what the silent majority believes. The Obama Presidency has been a complete failure – and he has proven himself to be dishonest. He’s a good campaigner, as long as he has his teleprompter and without it he stutters and stammers incessantly. One person who must be thrilled with the Obama Presidency is Jamed Earl Carter – now he is only the 2nd worst President in the history of our Country. The public is completely aware of the MSM’s lack of honest reporting on Obama and that they’re his re-election committee. This time around for Obama, anyone capable of thinking for themselves will dismiss what the MSM says. November 2012 can’t come soon enough! Goodbye Obama!

Newt wants to expand the patriot act and make it permanent…which would also give the president permanent executive order powers. He wants the death of America and yet people defend him? And I am not making up what I said, he proudly stated that point during the CNN debate. If you are fore Newt you are literally against America, there is no argument there.

Obama would rather face anyone in a debate than Newt. The Dems may be saying publicly that want Newt, but that is just their ploy to make Republicans ditch him. Internally, they want nothing to do with Newt, the debates would be the deathknell for Obama. And a note for you so called “republicans” who say they would not vote is Newt were the nominee…really? Fandaelis… My guess is, everything you think you know about conservatism was spoon fed to you by Fox News. That station does NOT represent the conservative viewpoint, it is a neoconservative viewpoint, and I believe that station has basically dealt a deathblow to traditional conservatism… unfortunately. Ron Paul is a conservative in the tradition of Goldwater and Taft. His domestic and foreign policies are very conservative. Even William F. Buckley was in favor of decriminalization of drugs at the federal level, and no knowledgeable person would call Buckley a liberal. Buckley was also against the war in Iraq and believed that Bush should have resigned or been removed because of that war. Finally, Buckley also was against using force against Iran unless they had a nuke ready to go, the range had been tested and could reach the US, and each and every alternative to force had been exhausted. Ron Paul is without a doubt the only conservative in the race. If GOP voters want a conservative nominee, Paul is the only one. If they want a neoconservative, which are basically progressive foreign interventionists, they have plenty of others to choose from.

YOU ALL have been mislead! After what I just witnessed, from the Newt’s own lips, it is abundantly clear why he is so confident that he will get the nomination: Does it not seem strangely reminiscent of a similar globalist candidate back in 2008 of the Republican party who had a near moribund campaign that came suddenly to life? McCain was severely in debt with the mob bosses in Vegas and he got mysterious campaign contributions that revived his campaign and at the same time paying off his debts to Guido and Vinnie. Now comes Newt from a campaign on life support after virtually all of his campaign crew abandoned him this spring. Now, does this not seem very strange to ANY of you “NEWTonians?”
As his predecessor did in ’08 , the Newt is being hired to throw this damned election to Obama , ANYWAY! You fanatics of the Newt have just signed your own death warrant. And you can thank the man who heralded TARP, The PATRIOT ACT, the repeal of GLASS-STEAGULL which would have eliminated wild banking speculation that got us into this mess in the first place… and now SB 1861 which is the last coffin nail in what used to be the right for every person in America to get a fair, speedy trial. My God people, What have you DONE?!

Signed,
A most distraught citizen of a once Great Republic!

If Ron Paul doesn’t win it doesn’t matter who does. Bush grows government, gives bailouts, and expands prescription entitlements. Obama attacks Libya, panders to giant corporations, and furthers the Patriot Act. It’s the same money behind each party. Nothing will ever change if we continue to vote for the lesser of two evils. It’s impossible for Herman Cain to be Newt Gingrich’s VP. It’s unconstitutional. Newt oughta know that. It’s a violation of the 12th Amendment. It’s plainly written:

“The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state themselves”

Ginrich and Cain are both from Georgia. It’s unconstitutional for them to be on the same ticket as Pres-VP.

In the middle are Ron Paul supporters who only know how to communicate with ALL CAPS, Lots of !!!! and an inability to see that splitting the conservative ticket with a third party would ensure a continuation of the current disaster we can only hope will be gone 13 months from now.

And one more thing…the battle of who can cut and paste the most statistics in order to appear as if they actually know anything is also going beyond ridiculous. GIve it a rest already. But his past is starkly apparent and he will fall like all the others. BTW, Ron Paul has not been approved by the GOP cartel so his only chance is to run in 2016 when the Democrats and the Republicans will be weakened. It’s certainly interesting what Chris Christie has been doing in New Jersey. He has started trimming the fat in state government in spite of being the leader of a very blue state. What is more interesting is that he supports Romney. Could it be that he perceives Romney as the better choice from a fiscal standpoint? People talk about flip flopping on this and that, but one thing is certain, fiscally, Romney is hands down the better choice. Since I believe that is THE ISSUE this election, Romney gets my vote.

Those who are happy and hopeful about Gingrich’s rise and strong possiblity of getting the Republican nomination, need to be extremely aware and mindful about the one danger to his candidacy – NEWT GINGRICH himself!

Yes Newt is articulate. He is brilliant. He knows the political landscape of America better than all other republican contenders and even better than Obama. Newt has some excellent ideas to the most complex problems. Newt has the ability to nuance his extreme positions depending upon the audience without making his re-positioning obvious. Newt is brilliant about the economy, Newt has a fantastic understanding about Foreign policy, Newt can speak eloquently about immigration issues and possible ways to fix things. Newt can appeal to the hardcore right wing without alienating all of the moderates and left leaning moderates too.

So what is the potential problem with Newt’s candidacy? Newt has this strange tendency to put in a lot of hardwork, and impress one and all, get even the left wing voters on his side, and then at the most unexpected moment, when everything would seem secure and locked, NEWT will make some absolutely stunningly ridiculous moves, either a mindboggling bizarre statement that will stun the entire nation. Either something that reveals him as being an insensitive Racist, or a misogynist, or a blind supporter of Wall Street Banksters.

Belive me, this man has it all. He can tie Obama in knots, obama can come with 10 teleprompters and on his day Newt will run rings aroung Obamas teleprompters with Newts logic and eloquence. Newt can school obama during the debates.

But chances are extremely strong that Newt will spectacularly self destruct. Has been proven time and time and time again. That is NEWT GINGRICH.

Problem is who else, if not Newt that can have half a chance of defeating Obama. The republican field is wafer thin. Ron Paul seems to have some great ideas, but his candidacy will never be allowed to gain traction by the Republican machinery. And Ron Paul can appear soft and too idealistic, whereas the American voters like an ‘action oriented’ candidate with a ‘slightly trigger’ happy cowboy edge. Especially Republican voters like a bit of that ‘tough talking no nonsense cowboy’ kind of Republican…a bit like Ronald Reagan, or atleast GW Bush with his Texan swagger and ‘You are either with us, or against us’ rhetoric. That kind of bluster would go well with the rightwing spectators. Ron appears too professorial in comparison.

So then looks like Republicans will do a ‘self goal’ and let Obama crown himself with another four years of glory.

If Republicans dont defeat Obama despite his absolute poor performance, Republicans would have no one but themselves to blame. Sorry, Republican friends, Newt is the wrong horse to bet on.

Newt:

(1) Endorsed Cap and Trade in a video with Nancy Pelosi.

(2) Supported Obama’s individual mandate.

(3) Stated that he would have voted for TARP bailouts if he was in Congress.

(4) Earned between $1.6 and $1.8 million for doing next to nothing for Freddie Mac – he’s the epitome of Washington insider.

(5) Fined $300,000 by the House Ethics Committee.

Mark Levin said it best: “By and far Ron Paulsen callers are the biggest bunch of {anuses) i have to deal with.”

Paulsen appeals to 8% of Republican voters. Assuming 40% of voters are registered Republicans {and that is a generous assumption} a whopping FIVE % of the population support Paulsen.
Yet do we see the way they stuff this board and stuff phone lines to radio talk shows and stuff unscientific polls n their disengenuous, dishonest phoney baloney plastic banana attempts to make Paulsen APPEAR to be more relevant than the FIVE % he really is?

The vast majority of Republicans will be elated when this myopic little man finally exits the stage for for good and into retirement in late Winter 2012.

Despite an avelanceh of lies, slander and innuendo that will all be part and parcel of NeoCommunist/Democrat, Chicago style dirty pool playbook, Newt WILL become POTUS on 1.20.2013

Newt and Obama in a debate? Newt will crush him. Obama can’t talk without a prompter, and he has no ideas other than raising taxes. Those who are gloating that Newt will be an easy target are obviously the kind of people who are actually afraid that this time..this time…Obama will have to use his own brain n the debates and that…will be fun…to watch!

Newt turned on his wife while she was fighting cancer from a hospital bed and divorced her. If he can do that any promise he makes to me is a joke. I’m on the top end of 12 month fight with Esophageal Cancer and can’t even begin to imagine how I could have beaten the beast had my wife walked out on me in the middle of it. Some things I will not forgive. What Newt did is one of ‘em. Damn him.

I think too many people are dismissing Bachmann. She is after all a woman and since Cain has been slandered so much by the democratic party it only makes sense she would be nominated. Newt Gingrich is a slime and few women or minorities would cast their vote for him.

Posted by: Paulie | December 2, 2011, 12:02 am 12:02 am

“Ron Paul will win the nomination because Republican Party can’t win without him.”

This is so true. Every other Republican or Democrat, the right or the left, is just that: 2 wings of the same bird! The only one beating a different drum is Ron Paul.

Anyone else will just end up bringing more of the same. You want more of the same? Then vote based on who the media tells you is still in the race. Let the polls dictate your thinking.

I’ll vote for Ron Paul. He is electable. It may be too late to turn this country around, but he is the only hope in Washington to mitigate the coming crisis.

Most of the decent people who have a brain and would actually be someone to consider, don’t have the funds to get that far. And most of the *1%” are a bunch of wicked, greedy crooks, who care only for themselves how much money they have. And Newt Gingrichw is one of those…not to mention a pompous, sefl centered ass..just who the GOP needs. I don’t care what the media says about the polls…for me its OBAMA 2012!!!

He may not have all of the answers regarding what happens when we are more hands off (and really, no one knows that yet), but why on earth are we so quick to want to vote for more of the same? There is no difference between the mainstream republican and democrat politicians. They are both bought and paid for by the same corporations! How the hell is insider trading for Congress not illegal? Really, 170K+ as a salary for what to you is probably a part-time job — that’s not enough money? How is it that Congressmen go in as freshmen, with a networth of 6-figures, and end up on these committees now with net worths of EIGHT DIGITS. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? PUBLIC SERVANTS!?!?

Gingrich will mop the floor with Obama and Romney would lose against him

Posted by: rick | December 2, 2011, 1:40 am 1:40 am

@MTATL67:

“They have called a huge voting bloc “Un-American”, “Dangerous”, “Ignorant” and Mr. Gingrich told them to get a job and take a bath. Mr. Cain insulted the new largest minority group by saying he would build an electric fence on the southern border”

Firstly, I hate to dissillusion you but if you combine ALL the “Occupy” groups from ALL the cities, there are hardly enough to make up a blip-sized “voting bloc”. Secondly, over 90% of the “Occupiers” will vote for a Democrat no matter what. The dems could nominate a blathering idiot and they’d still vote that way. So no loss there.

Then, about that fence. Most LEGAL immigrants like myself RESENT those who try to side-step the process that we (or our parents) went through to come to this country. We are mostly hard-working law-abiding people and we further RESENT those who give our culture a bad name. We also don’t like the drugs and crime that comes across that border and endangers our families So if anything, we will support those who want better border security.

I am a Republican, a serious conservative, and a Christian. I can see my way to still vote for Cain but I am not voting for Newt Gingrich. All I have to say to him is, “Newt don’t let the polls fool you.” He is NOT going to be the nominee, no way, shape, or form and neither is the establishment candidate Mitt Romney. I had just about put Ron Paul out of my mind but as days pass and others take a back seat he might just be the man to vote for. Rather than Newt I would even take a Republican House and Senate (that’s all but assured, thank you very much) and Obama. This time we will need to take his administration to court to stop his dictator type actions. He (Obama) has to be stopped by any means necessary excluding violence. Oh well, that should keep the secret service off my back. I don’t believe anyone should attack a president or congress person physically.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that’s NOT BOUGHT AND PAID FOR by globalists. Newt World Order and the rest of the sock puppets are. Stop being junkies and take the time to look at each ones track records, and policies. If you don’t, then you deserve everything you get. Ron Paul is the only one with the cleanest record, and honors his oath to the constitution. The others will just rip apart your freedoms and steal what little change you have left in your pockets. Don’t believe me? then watch and see what happens.

“Kip Carter, his former campaign treasurer, was walking Newt’s daughters back from a football game one day and cut across a driveway where he saw a car. “As I got to the car, I saw Newt in the passenger seat and one of the guys’ wives with her head in his lap going up and down. Newt kind of turned and gave me this little-boy smile. Fortunately, Jackie Sue and Kathy were a lot younger and shorter then.”

Posted by: lexingtonlady | December 2, 2011, 2:25 am 2:25 am

There truly is no hope left. Not the Obama kind of hope everyone was drooling over but the hope of sensibility and restraint. The hope of ever getting back to following that supposedly important document called “The Constitution”. We have strayed so far from that contract our founding fathers would barely recognize the government we have now. For most that “serve” in OUR capital the Constitution is nothing more than just an annoyance where by they use an army of lawyers to convince themselves and others that when they essentially subvert it that they have done nothing wrong. We apparently subscribe to a new dictionary with new and updated meanings of words where up is down and vise versa and interpretations float in the air. Does anyone even pay attention to the oath that new presidents take when accepting the office. “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the CONSTITUTION of the United States.” Maybe it should be updated with a disclaimer at the end “unless it becomes inconvenient or gets in the way of reelection.” When it is all said and done someone’s word and honor are all they have and when an oath is broken they are left with neither. The credit for this erosion does not solely belong to President Obama but it has been picked away slowly over the years by one President after another and always for political gain. These stewards of the executive office have snapped up power at every chance and slowly stifled the rights of the citizenry. We now live in a world where the few that follow the Constitution in their decision making are considered unreasonable and antiquated.
I feel that Gingrich will follow the same path but in the republican way. Democrats have increased the deficit and stifled rights through the belief that it is the responsibility of government to care for every American from the cradle to the grave and will “punish” those that are successful by increasing their taxes in order to do it. Republicans have increased the deficit and stifled rights by using fear and by making war. They have convinced most that terrorists are hiding in our backyards and that every rock must be turned over just to make sure there’s not one there. They have tried to convince us that there have been threats in the past which have never been proven and that political rhetoric equates to actual threat. And when actual threats surface they are discarded and ignored. If left to these two parties’s our nation will either be – 1. A nation of poor in which the increasing masses of poverty have dragged down the prosperous in order to attain their achievements and wealth with no regard to gaining self reliance and personal success or 2. A broke nation that has spent all its wealth no matter what the cost in order to protect us from a supposedly never ending threat. Similar to building a trillion dollar fence to protect a billion dollar property.
One last thing I hope (there’s that word again) everyone thinks about when contemplating a possible President Gingrich. It is not his intelligence that is the problem because he is in fact an extremely intelligent man and has many solid ideas as to how to fix our problems. What worries me the most is his commitment to those ideas and goals. If his past personal life is any indicator then I would gather that his word and his oaths really don’t matter to him.

Welcome to the NEWT WORLD ORDER:

“During the last financial crisis, the Federal Reserve secretly conducted the biggest bailout in the history of the world, and the Fed fought in court for several years to keep it a secret. Do you remember the TARP bailout? The American people were absolutely outraged that the federal government spent 700 billion dollars bailing out the “too big to fail” banks. Well, that bailout was pocket change compared to what the Federal Reserve did. As you will see documented below, the Federal Reserve actually handed more than 16 trillion dollars in nearly interest-free money to the “too big to fail” banks between 2007 and 2010. So have you heard about this on the nightly news? Probably not. Lately Bloomberg has been reporting on some of this, but even they are not giving people the whole picture. The American people need to be told about this 16 trillion dollar bailout, because it is a perfect example of why the Federal Reserve needs to be shut down. The Federal Reserve has been actively picking “winners” and “losers” in the financial system, and it turns out that the “friends” of the Fed always get bailed out and always end up among the “winners”. This is not how a free market system is supposed to work.” – THEECONOMICCOLLAPSEBLOG

Rasmussen poll has to be out of whack to have Newt with a commanding position in a poll.
Just look thru these post and you’ll see a better poll of what most think of Newt and for good reason.
For Newt to believe he is a shoe in for the nomination at this point in time has got to tell you something of his character. For Ron Paul’s campaign to attack him is saying even more. Paul didn’t want to attack any one of the other candidates, but Newt’s greed on $60k plus speeches after leaving office and flip flopping to earn that money just shows you what type of person he truly is. Plus now were hearing about all the bucks he made off Frannie and Freddie..
I hope my fellow Americans are smarter than Newt thinks he is. Now he even believes that attacking him will do none of the other candidates any good and will leave them in a bad light.
That’s exactly what Bill O implied on a fox video tonight that aired a small part of the Paul’s video against Newt. Didn’t Newt do a lot of commentary work on fox over the past years?
I just want to scream when I hear about this egotist, to put it nicely.
Thanks Bill O for getting a portion of that Paul video on the air. (We know what your intent was.) For the rest of us, go to Daily Paul online and view the whole video! Hope you enjoy the truth.

The filthy fruit-basket dukes and drag queens in the freak show media who like to take it up the butt are determining the “morality” of republican candidates? What a joke! That this is the same media pushing for Romney and against Gingrich and Cain says it all! Romney is the quintessential North East RHINO and member of the Mormon cult more bizarre even than Islam, do the research! Ron Paul is a shrill girly-man anti-Semite who appeals to pot heads and crazy head-in-the-sand isolationists! As for Obama, who is going to vote for him? Hippie wannabe college kids, their grey-haired hippie counterparts, pitifully ignorant black people, illegal aliens and a few dead people! Micky Mouse could run against Obama/Barry and beat him in a landslide! This fake fraud muslim marxist foreign national “occupying” the Oval Office STILL remains unexamined by a protective media who attempts to give the republican candidates the equivalent of a media “colonoscopy”!! Romney and Obama do have one thing indisputably in common, the “anybody but” in front of their names! It does look like that “anybody ” is going to be ………..!

If Ron Paul doesn’t make it…we lose! I once believed he was a weirdo years ago because that’s what the boob tube was drilling into my head. With a lot of research on the web I learned that I was a complete fool for not listening to what he was saying years ago. I don’t agree with everything, but he’s got the best choices to pull the country back together and save all our butts.
We don’t have another candidate or current president that will make the drastic changes that will be necessary for us to remain a nation that we can all thrive in.
What do we have to lose even if he fails due to a congress of do nothings? He most likely won’t get everything he wants, but at least we the people would finally get a voice that represented the majority of our opinions.
I even see other folks in different countries posting that they wish they had a choice like him to vote for. Are we going to ignore a,once in my life time, chance to vote the correct person into office?
Promoting liberty may sound stupid to many, but I hope those many will take a little time and see what it’s all about. They just may learn that its what they have been wanting all along.
Yesterday the fed voted to help out the European central banks…so guess what…those bucks in your pocket are going to be worth less than they are already. Sanctions on Iran petroleum will probably drive up your cost at the pump pretty soon. $660 billion defense budget just passed the senate.
Before it all crashes, I hope all understand what their really up against…some don’t have a clue.

Thinking that the same money that bought Obama isn’t going romance Mr. SuperLobbist, Newt Gingrich is totally naive. The moneyed interests have all of you set up reeeeal good fighting with each other in this goofy bi-partisan charade. The only questions voters need to ask themselves is whether they want to continue to cede their rights and collective power to the power structure that has brought us this far down the road OR do you want to reassert yourself as someone who actually cares about integrity and sees beyond the left/right paradigm to the men behind the curtain who are driving America off a cliff with candidates from either side of the aisle.

Kinda reminds me of another small but determined minority who’s blood, sweat, and tears gave birth to the best country in the world…They had to fight a revolutionary war against British tyranny and the vast majority were content to be ruled by a despot. Ron Paul stands by his oath to the Constitution, the document that those who fought and often died penniless created that paved the way for all of us to live in this greatness that is America. Newt Gingrich? Seriously? America deserves better than Newt Gingrich. What America needs is Ron Paul.

I am not affiliated with either party. Ron Paul is the only choice.
Government is not the solution it is the problem. Ron Paul believe is
less Government plain and simpe. We can’t afford anyone else.

Don’t be cocky Newt. While you are brilliant, and light years past Obama in knowledge, no one likes cocky. . .that’s what Obama is. . . .with this narcissistic behavior.

Don’t behave like Obama. . . . .

Posted by: No One Important | December 2, 2011, 8:26 am 8:26 am

How can anyone believe a word this man says? If he betrayed his own family, he’ll betray you too, the moment the next best thing comes along. The Republican Party should not nominate an adulterer (and in this case, an adultress), period. Adultery should disqualify anyone from being President. How could we go so far from our family values roots? Yes, Newt can repent and we can forgive. However, it would be foolishness to forget. Bernie Madoff can repent and I can forgive him, but if I then make Bernie the Secretary of the Treasury, what does that make me?

Posted by: smithhr | December 2, 2011, 8:39 am 8:39 am

The problem the Obamabots have is that Newt is brilliant, and has a positive outlook for the nation.

A bright futue for all, as opposed to Obama’s “we suck” mentality and it’s your fault, and you’re lazy, and you can’t make it without him mentality. . . . .

And as for the Paulbots swarming this board like locusts. . . .wake up wouldja? A lot of other people get to vote also. .not just you. . . .and all these threats of a 3rd party. . . .

You couldn’t make it clearer that you’re a cult of personality, just like the obamabots. If there is a 3rd party push from Paul the only thing he will be remembered for is behaving like a bitter old man who didn’t get what he wanted, and handed a second term to Obama.

He won’tt be remembered for anything else. . .and something tells me, Paul is not going to want to go out like that. Make him Treas Sec, and turn him loose on the fed. . . .that is the best place for Ron Paul. . . not at the top of a ticket.

Newt has what it takes. . .and as long as he stays positive, with a bright outlook for our nation and a plan to get us back on track. . . .and no more comments like this that sound cocky . . .and will be twisted out of context. . . . .

Stay in there Newt. . . .you will mop the floor with Obama. . . . .we’re hanging behind you!

Posted by: felix | December 2, 2011, 9:02 am 9:02 am

to all the Newt bashers and naysayers, please educate yourselves on the real facts of what he has accomplished. Not the negative bashing or heresay. If you stopped and actually looked at him compared to bama, there is no comparison. bama has made this country worse on every front…don’t believe it ? then you’re not paying attention to the facts. read all media sources, not just the mouthpieces for the WH. I can’t wait to see Newt crush bama with facts as the elite liberal tries to stay on point with his empty rhetoric. think about it. everything bama has said, he has done the exact opposite.

Posted by: dave | December 2, 2011, 9:04 am 9:04 am

Romney is the only one who can defeat Obama and take this country on the right path. He has a history of getting things done. Newt loves to talk about history. That distinction alone should make you pause and reflect on the outcome.

Posted by: Larry | December 2, 2011, 9:15 am 9:15 am

If he is the nominee, then we are collectively screwed. This guy is as much of a globalist stooge of the oligarchs as obama. He’s a member of the CFR and of the hyper-gay Bohemian Groove. If this guy is “conservative” than I am the offspring of Santa and the Easter bunny. Wake up people because if you don’t and we get either obama, newtie or romney (and many others save Ron Paul) then we are assured of war with Iran, Syria and Pakistan. As a result of this push by the oligarch masters of the Anglo-American cabal to control the resources of the world and slow the ascension of China and Russia, China and Russia will be drawn into WW3. Both countries have already stated that they will use thermonuclear weapons. It seems as if our “leaders”, who themselves are puppets, want this war to distract from the economic depression and as a side benefit to further their eugenics plans of reducing the world’s population from 7 billion down to 1 billion or less. A few nukes and world famine will start their neo-Malthusian, Hitleresque drive to kill off as many “useless eaters” as possible.

What a shame for America. Two times in a row the country picks a big-talking member of Congress with an academic, self-centered attitude and no executive experience whatsoever? Come on, the country deserves what it gets when we pick these clowns! I’m a Democrat and was ready to vote for Mitt Romney, who unlike everyone else in the field has started businesses, run a state and turned around lots of companies. He’s a class act, too…very presidential. I will not vote for Newt if he’s the nominee.

Always amazed at the collective stupidity of Obama supporters. If there were no party, race, age, or sex attached to a resume submitted by this untalented, inexperienced, and corrupt candidate and now president (an embarrassment to the office) for any job that required accountability and performance, he would never be hired or if he was, would be fired after 1 year. Face it, if you can’t recognize how pathetic this president is, I guarantee you spend more time watching American Idol and Dancing with the Stars than understanding politics, and by rights shouldn’t be permitted to vote. And Newt corrupt? Really? Prove it! The man gets paid for his ideas and experience and obama has accomplished nothing and gets paid! Intellectually, experientailly, and on the basis of achievement, obama can’t carry Newt’s briefcase. There is no facit of the man that is superior, so, put down your friggin Wii and study why Newt not only should be the next President and restore American honor, but can be given obama’s abysmal record on the economy (and sell that inherited economy crap to Joy behar and the liberal shill Maher, barry owns it, a smart man, hell a half smart man could have corrected this mess), foreign policy and Chicago corruption. And screw you Axelord, you are a disgrace to us conservative Jews.

Who care about Newt’s divorces? I’m divorced and frankly get really tired of all the “perfect” people out there who love to judge the rest of us with “baggage.” Heck, everybody has “baggage” whether you’re divorced or not. As to Romney, he needs to go back to his small, dark circle of Northeastern liberalism and stop trying to convince conservatives that he is one of us. That’s like trying to convince a Bible-believing Christian that his weird Mormon religious beliefs are nothing to worry about. He ain’t fooling us and he didn’t fool Uncle Rick (Perry) or Uncle Ron (Paul) or Aunt Michelle (Bachman) either! Of course, Uncle Herman has been a bit busy lately…

Liberals should not underestimate Newt. As House Speaker in the ’90s, he introduced welfare reform, bringing hundreds of thousands OFF welfare rolls, cut taxes, and improved the economy tremendously.

Obama simply cannot run on his record, since all of his efforts FAILED (i.e., Obamacare, $870 billion stimulus, cash for clunkers, insulting our overseas friends such as Israel). Newt will CLEAN Obama’s clock in a debate. I cannot wait to see it happen. :)

You know, as you scroll through these posts two themes keep coming through from both liberals and conservatives: Newt’s got more baggage than United Airlines; and a Newt candidacy means four more years of Obama in 2012.
Furthermore, if Newt becomes the candidate the Republican party can scrap “values” as an issue for at least the next three generations.

Posted by: Dan in Twin Cities | December 2, 2011, 11:26 am 11:26 am

Considering Newt has been the speaker of the house and has been in Washington for several years, I would say it’s time to clean house. He should be one of the reps to get ousted during the next vote. Because of his tenure and lack of ethics, I see him as a big part of the problem in Washington, not the solution. Why does the media and their polls spew all the nonsense about him leading in the polls? They’re making the voters sound like a bunch of complete idiots who’re changing their mind based on whimsical media reporting.

Just can’t vote for Newt. What a scumbag. Nobody is perfect, but he’s the most morally bankrupt of the lot.
I will be voting for Dr. Paul, even if I have to write him in. I’m tired of the media and the political establishment picking my candidate. I used to think Ron Paul was a complete nut, then I did my own research and realized that I was the one misguided, not him. Lots of folks laugh at us Ron Paul supporters, however, we are the only ones with the nerve to vote our convictions instead of holding our nose and continuing to pull the lever for whichever candidate the establishment and media have selected for us.

Do your own research, make up your own mind. Vote your OWN principles and beliefs and don’t just vote for whoever the MSM is pushing this week. We all know the news isn’t biased, right?

Governor Rick Perry. He should be the nominee, too, if you want a conservative President with executive experience who will get the energy business and all business booming. I call him buck fifty a gallon Perry. Guaranteed he will get the ERA reorganized so it actually fights POLLUTION instead of trying to shut down all business in America and get it shifted to China. Do you know how to tell Perry is the best nominee?? Look at the way the old media has been trumpeting the end of his campaign since the first “debate” when 4 of the 6 dwarves were allowed to scream inanities at him continuously with the assistance and protection of the “mediator” haha. Take a good long look at him and tell me what SERIOUS problems you have with him?? Wanting to have girls encouraged to be vaccinated against HPV and cervical cancer. It is WARTS, people, and can be spread just like any other warts. by contact. Simply borrowing a girl friends bathing suit without first washing it with bleach could spread them. Have you ever seen a PICTURE or HPV?? Go google it and tell me that’s something you wouldn’t want protection against because of silly puritanical ideas that “it will encourage them to be sl*ts” How about TEACHING your little girl to respect herself and others and get her the damned vaccine, too??

I like the cut of Professor (soon to be president) Newt’s jib. He is a hardworking business man that knows what a dollar is worth. He would never take a penny from the public sector. That gig is for lobbyists and my Newt is certainly not one of those. Those stories about spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on jewelry and making hundreds of thousands (it may be millions, but I can’t recall) from Franny and Freddie are surely invented. The Newt I know would never do that, he is made of strong moral fiber. He understands that his private life has no public role and he would never drag another man’s private life into the public debate. His marriages have all been an effort to find a shoe that fits and I respect that. Here we stand with a choice to make. I am asking those that believe in pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, a government that is a source of inspiration instead of money and monogamy to VOTE FOR NEWT. He is our man.

Gingrich is so confident here, I have to assume he’s been given the word that he’s to be the GOP nominee. Really America, it doesn’t really matter who gets in, Democrat or Republican, who they decide will be one and the same. We are a lost nation and a nation of fools.

Posted by: smillsbc | December 2, 2011, 12:35 pm 12:35 pm

A few facts that are being overlooked:
(1) Newt Gingrich did not leave his cancer-stricken wife on her deathbed. She asked for a divorce and she received one. She never had cancer, and she is alive today.
(2) Newt Gingrich is far smarter than any of his opponents. He is a policy wonk and committed to free markets and free people.
(3) When Newt Gingrich makes mistakes, he admits it and asks for forgiveness. He did this with regards to his adultery as well as his support of AGW (global warming) activism.

Newt is profoundly conservative and could beat Obama in a debate with half his brain tied behind his back.

Posted by: Nick | December 2, 2011, 12:40 pm 12:40 pm

Leave it up to feeble minded liberals to look at the full slate of candidates for president and conclude that the republican side is somehow ill equipped to handle the job of President. The problem IS our current president. Any republican with conservative credentials would do a thousand times better than Dumbo DohBama. I say that because his leadership style borders on that of Homer Simpson.

The truth is, with a true conservative in the White House, and with the House and Senate both supporting TRUE Republican values, we would see business take off like a rocket. Liberals do not think we have a spending problem, and that again is a lot of the problems that we are experiencing now.

If you need help trying to figure out whom to vote for, remember the tactics used by Reid, Pelosi and Dumbo Doh Bama to force through all manner of illicit legislation against the will of the people, the Czars, The rampant corruption, the image of the US across the world, the war on Christianity, the Black Panters/justice department fiasco, and the list goes on and on. Gingrich looks pretty good in that light.

I think Newt would be a good opponent for Obama. They are basically polar opposites so lets see which way the country wants to go. It can go Obamas way which means slower growth, lower standard of living, bigger and more intrusive governement. Or it can go the Gingrich way which means faster growth, higher standard of living and a smaller more responsive governement. Thanks for listening.

Newt, your arrogance will cause your decent before the Republican convention. At the convention there will be no clear majority for yourself or Romney, Romney’s organization will then become Jeb Bush’s where their allegiance really is presently focused. Romney could realize this and cut the elite Republican puppet strings before then and become his own person but that has the probability that Obama will become a real leader. Not.

Newt is probably the smartest guy in politics and I am certain he could fix this mess we are in. I am still not 100% sold on him yet though and I have not decided on who I want to back for President. I do know this – I will not vote for Obama again. Obama has nothing to run on. Is Obama going to run on his 9% Unemployment rate? The unemployment rate is actually 10 points higher in reality. Is he going to run on his $15 trillion of debt? Is he going to run on the Solyndra and Fast & Furious scandals? What can this President run on? He can’t blame the GOP for bills not being passed. The Dems have had control since 2006! The first two years of Obama’s Presidency, the Democrats had a major majority in Congress. The GOP has passed many great job bills (over 15 of them) and all of those bills are sitting on the floor of the Senate. Recently, Obama’s Payroll Tax Bill flopped in the Senate… but the Dems control the Senate. Even Dems voted against it but the President is blaming the GOP. He is playing the “Americans are dumb” game and he thinks we are not paying attention. I never seen a President act so un-Presidential with his finger-pointing, blaming, and whining as much as Obama. Even campaigning with tax payer’s dollars and raising millions from Wall Street. Obama is finished!

Ron Paul 2012. Take off the blinders people. Most of you are brainwashed by what someone else told you. Think for yourselves and do some research instead of listening to what the corporate owned media and tabloid conservative shock jocks are scaring you into believing. Newt, Romney, and the rest of them are bought and paid for. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate with enough integrity and honesty to get my vote. I think my 20+ years as a Republican voter is coming to an end.

We all need to band together here and vow to vote for anybody but Obama. This nations very existence rides on his defeat. If Obama achieves reelection he will become the true Marxist that he is and that is when things will really get ugly in this country. He has tried to appear as moderate as possible for the 1st 4 years but it has been very for him to maintain appearance. Just remember who his friends are, Jim Ayers, Rev. Wrights, Van Jones, etc. All extreme leftists in their beliefs. One of them even will to blow people up to make a point.

Obama is not telling Americans the truth when he speaks and the media needs to confront him. Obama must tell the People that there are actually 25 jobs bills that PASSED in the House and is waiting on a vote in the Senate. I never seen a more non-transparent President than this one. I apologize to the American People for casting my independent vote for him but this independent will not be making that same mistake this time around.

With all the liiberal dems rooting for Newt, I hope it happens and wouldn’t miss the debates. Obama is welcome to use the teleprompter. Gringrich can rely on his brains and experience. America can then decide on a guy with a slogan, “Hope and Change”, vs a guy who uses history and factual information. After all is said and done, we will see the direction that the American people have chosen to go.

Go Newt from Crosby, Texas. You WILL be the nominee and I WILL encourage others to vote for you. It’s time for all the other Republic hopefuls to saddle up and ride off into the sunset.

Newt will implode. Better in the primaries than the general election.

Newt may be arrogant, but this is a piddley example of it:

Which candidate, on either side, has not said (many times), “When I am President, I will __________ (fill in the blank).

So what’s the difference between ALL OF THOSE supposedly-arrogant candidates and what Newt has said, except what Newt said was merely relegated to his own party.

Palin/Snookie 2012………Go Repubs!

May I just take this opportunity to thank all of you for your hate speech against conservatives? I find it odd though that the most tolerant people on the face of the planet have no tolerance for those with differing opinions. Don’t you think it strange when you say one thing and do the other? What do you call that? Wait, it’s coming to me… Hypocrite. That’s it! Have a nice rant. LOL

Newt is a megalomaniac.
Megalomania is a psycho-pathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of power, relevance, or omnipotence. ‘Megalomania is characterized by an inflated sense of self-esteem and overestimation by persons of their powers and beliefs’.[1] Historically it was used as an old name for narcissistic personality disorder prior to the latter’s first use by Heinz Kohut in 1968, and is used these days as a non-clinical equivalent

Newt divorced his wife while she was dying and took millions of dollars in bailouts from taxpayers money, this guy is untrustworthy. He is also a flip flopper, just like Mitt Romney.

Ron Paul is the only trustworthy candidate in this race, and the only one advocating freedom for the country.

With Newt Gingrich the patriot act will continue and the government will be spying on us in all our homes, if that’s what America means to you vote Gingrich. If you want someone who gives a damn about your freedom and not just his paycheck vote Ron Paul.

Ron Paul 2012!

The conservatives who would rather vote for a known adulterer than a mormon when given the choice deserve what they get.

What do we want four more years of from Obama-Pelosi-Reid? The Great Recession? Employment at the 1983 level? Record bankruptcies and foreclosures? More Americans in poverty and on food stamps than ever before in our history? Only half of minorities graduating from HIGH SCHOOL? $4/gal gas? ObamaCare?
Why would anyone with a lick of sense vote for four more years of this?

If you were afraid of Romney, be Very Afraid of Gingrich, he is a Wolf in Sheep’s clothing and not to be trusted. He can spin an interview or a debate and fool everyone. Look at his record, not just his personal life, but he is all over the map on his responses, it’s scary!!
There is only one candidate that doesn’t have any baggage to claim and is a true fighter and consistent conservative that can beat Obama, Bachmann!

Whats the name of the candidate that is for the constitution and freedom and liberty and the American way? You know the one that believes the govmt. does not have right to make everything illegal and that the govmt. must obey the constitution and preserve and protect the constitution. He is the only one that the Globalist are against, and he is the only one that does not look like a train reck.
RON PAUL

This is cute. I love how the republicans go crazy over obama, get all hyper-apocalyptic…Then refuse to admit they have no one who can win. As if it were somehow Obama’s fault that the rightwing has spent the lsat decade going further and further into insanity.

But I Know why you dont have anyone: Because this ideology of yours, folks? No one but you wants it. You are not a majority or you wouldve won in 2008. No one with your platform runs, because they know they could never win.

Ron Paul is a fool. I’m glad to have my tax money supporting the nation I was born and grew up in. Im glad to be able to contribute to public well being. I like having a society.

When the rightwing has decided it hates society, of ccourse they arent gonna win anymore. Liars and monsters are great weapons, but they make terrible rulers.

I am dissapointed in you, conservatives. You dont even have a clear candidate, and already you are going genocidal on each other. And you expect to WIN? You’ve already lost and you don’t even realize it.

PS: Everyone in the US be sure to get your Victini. V FOR VICTINI

He can say whatever he wants, but that still wont make it true.

The fact is that he has not even registered in all the states and has missed the dead line. he has no money and he has no organization and no credibility. he is a slick talking con man and that’s it. When Newt is placed up against a real Conservative and a true statesmen like Ron Paul his own record destroys him.
Ron Paul will beat Newt and all the other establishment puppets because hes smarter then them and he is honest and he cares about America before all else. not international bankers and corporations Look at who finances all the rest. then look at Ron Paul more small donations and individual donations then all the others and more donations from active duty military then all others combined. Ron Paul will win because hes running for the right reasons not fortune glory and power but for the constitution the the country and the freedom and rights of the individual.
Newts polling and media are all a desperate attempt of Neo-Con Republican establishment status-quo to try and give there last guy left some traction . we have scene this with Mechelle and Cain and Perry but people are awake and it wont work Newt will fade away like the rest and Ron Paul will Remain as always a resolute force for truth and liberty. RON PAUL 2012 Truth Will Overcome!

I was raised to believe that humility was a great character trait to have and still believe that. Leaders who can’t be humble and teachable while doing their job end up being horrible dictators. Sorry Newt…my vote can’t go to your ever-inflating ego.
