Cindy McCain Says Anti-Huntsman Web Video 'Has Shades of 2000 All Over It'

Cindy McCain took to twitter today to assail the web video made by a supporter of Ron Paul - and since disavowed by the Paul campaign - that smears Jon Huntsman as some sort of tool of Chinese interests, dragging his adopted daughters into it as part of the "evidence."

"I deeply resent the video made using the adopted daughters of@johnhuntsman," McCain wrote on twitter Friday afternoon. "@ronpaul shame on you. This has shades of 2000 all over it."

McCain was referring to smears against her husband by allies of then-Gov. George W. Bush's campaign leading up to the GOP South Carolina primary in 2000. One of the smears - a push poll that referred to McCain fathering an out of wedlock "black baby" - was apparently a reference to the McCains' adopted Bangladeshi daughter Bridget.
