'Detroit Guy' Mitt Romney Touts Ownership of Multiple American Cars, Wife's Cadillacs
DETROIT - Today wasn't the first time we've heard Mitt Romney list the number of cars he owns.
In September at a campaign stop at an Arizona car dealership, Romney made a similar remark, albeit not at the end of a major policy speech.
"See I'm a Detroit guy, so, you know, I only have domestics," said Romney, as he toured the Jim Click Ford Lincoln East Dealership in Tucson, Ariz., on September 14. "I have a couple of the Cadillacs at two different houses. You know, small crossovers."
"I also have a mustang too," said Romney, walking next to the dealership owner Jim Click as he toured the showroom ahead of a campaign event
Earlier today, after finishing a formal speech to the Detroit Economic Club, Romney made a nearly identical statement.
I like the fact that most of the cars I see are Detroit made automobiles I drive a mustang and a Chevy pickup truck," said Romney, standing on Ford Field where 1,200 people sat to listen in a stadium that can hold 80,000. " Ann drives a couple of Cadillac's actually. And I used to have a dodge truck so I used to have all three covered."
