Obama Visits North Carolina - The Presidential Planner
President Obama heads to the key election battleground state of North Carolina today where he will tour a truck manufacturing plant and deliver remarks on the economy.
The president will visit the Daimler Trucks North America's Mount Holly truck manufacturing plant outside Charlotte this afternoon, where he will likely tout the auto bailout and promote his "all of the above" approach to energy production.
While the president's numbers in the swing state are on the up, 51 percent of North Carolinians still disapprove of his handling of the economy, while 43 percent approve, according to an Elon University poll.
The poll, however, shows an improvement from the president's numbers in September when the group found that 57 percent disapproved of the president's handling of the economy and 37 percent approved.
