Former Rick Santorum campaign manager Mike Biundo has joined the Mitt Romney campaign. He will be serving as Romney’s deputy coalitions director, organizing conservative voters for the former rival’s campaign.

The post was first reported by the New Hampshire Union Leader and announced by another New Hampshire native, Romney’s spokesperson Ryan Williams.

“Mike Biundo ran an outstanding campaign for Senator Santorum, and we are excited that he has agreed to bring his considerable skills and abilities to our team. His decision to join Governor Romney’s campaign is another indication that Republicans are coalescing around Governor Romney’s pro-jobs, pro-growth message and quickly uniting to defeat President Obama,” Williams said in a statement.

Biundo is a veteran New Hampshire political strategist who worked on the state’s team for Pat Buchanan’s 1996 victory there and more recently Rep. Frank Guinta’s successful 2010 campaign.

Santorum has yet to formally endorse Romney, but has inferred it will happen after the two meet on May 4.

Biundo has been active on Twitter and Facebook since Santorum left the race earlier this month, tweeting frequently about his boredom and missing the campaign. He only waited a few weeks before joining back up.

Biundo was at Romney’s Tuesday speech in Manchester, New Hampshire where the campaign launched their official general election effort.
