Mike Huckabee on Being Mitt Romney's VP: Greater Likelihood I'll be Asked by Madonna to Go on Tour
This morning on "This Week," I asked former Republican Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee if he is currently being vetted by the Romney campaign as they search for a vice-presidential candidate to join the presumed Romney led ticket this fall. Here is how he responded:
Stephanopoulos: "I'm going to ask you Gov. Huckabee the same question I asked Rick Santorum, have you been asked by the Romney campaign for your background information. Would you give it if they did?"
Huckabee: "I have not been asked. I think there's a greater likelihood that I'll be asked by Madonna to go on tour as her bass player than I'll be picked to be on the ticket."
I also asked Rick Santorum earlier in the program if he was being vetted by the Romney campaign for a spot on the ticket and he told me that he has not been approached as of yet, saying "no one has asked me for anything right now," but added "if he calls me, I'll answer the phone call. But I'm not anxious to get back involved in the fray right now."
