On Immigration Day, Business Follows Pleasure

Eyes and ears are tuned to President Obama's impending speech about the new looser immigration rules that are leading the political world today … but first, the president has a very important campaign event to attend.

And it appears to be running long. Obama was scheduled to speak in the Rose Garden about his illegal immigration order at 1:15 p.m. But he kept the cameras waiting as he ate lunch with four donors to his campaign.

The donors - small-dollar contributors, incidentally including a firefighter and a retired GM worker - were chosen by the campaign to share some private time with Obama, who is thanking them for their support.

When he wraps up, Obama will speak about the immigration announcement, which, officially, is not campaign related.
