The Note's Must-Reads for Monday, June 25, 2012

The Note's Must-Reads are a round-up of today's political headlines and stories from ABC News and the top U.S. newspapers. Posted Monday through Friday right here at www.abcnews.com

Compiled by ABC News' Jayce Henderson and Amanda VanAllen

PRESIDENT OBAMA: The Washington Times' Sarah Freishtat: " Obama too toxic for West Virginia Democrats" For a West Virginia Democrat these days, balancing the demands of local and national party politics can induce ideological schizophrenia. The party controls the governor's mansion, both of the state's U.S. Senate seats and both houses of the state Legislature, but President Obama is so politically toxic in the Mountaineer State that a jailed felon won nine of the state's 55 counties and took 41 percent of the vote in the state's Democratic presidential primary last month. USA Today's Susan Page: " USA Today/Gallup Poll: Latinos strongly backing Obama" President Obama has built an overwhelming lead among Latino voters, a nationwide USA TODAY/Gallup Poll of Hispanics finds, as Republican challenger Mitt Romney faces a difficult path ahead to make inroads among what has been the nation's fastest-growing ethnic group for a generation. LINK

The Wall Street Journal's Peter Nicholas: " Political Perceptions: Obama Keeps faith in Ground Game" Before heading out to register voters, a group of Obama campaign volunteers gets a pep talk and some last minute advice. "Ask everybody," a young aide tells them on a recent weekend. Everybody means everybody. LINK

The New York Times' Jodi Kantor: " Wearing Brave Face, Obama Braces for Health Care Ruling" Late on Tuesday, March 27, halfway around the world, President Obama began one of the most suspenseful waits in recent presidential history. After a blur of nuclear security meetings in South Korea, Mr. Obama settled into the Air Force One conference room to read a summary aides had written of that day's arguments before the Supreme Court back in Washington. LINK

The Washington Post's Robert Barnes: " For Obama, Supreme Court health-care, immigration rulings to close a tough term" The Supreme Court this week will conclude its term by handing down much-anticipated rulings on health care and immigration, President Obama's remaining priorities before the justices. It is a finale that cannot come quickly enough for the administration, which has had a long year at the high court. LINK

Politico's Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan: " 'A hugely consequential week'" Washington is in for one of its wildest weeks in a long time, and the stakes could hardly be higher for President Barack Obama. The Supreme Court is expected to hand down its landmark decision on the president's signature first-term achievement, the 2010 health care law, a ruling with huge implications for Obama's legacy and his prospects for a second term. LINK

MITT ROMNEY: ABC News' Rick Klein: "' World News' Political Insights: Mitt Romney Flexes Muscle as Huge Week Looms for President Obama" If you want a live-action version of a Democratic nightmare these days, the weekend events in Park City, Utah, are a decent start. And that might look like the fun part of the week for Democrats before we're through. LINK

The Hill's Justin Sink: " Romney shows his softer side" A series of campaign appearances by Mitt Romney and his family appear designed to show the candidate in a softer light and counter one of President Obama's strengths. Romney has acknowledged Obama's eloquence and likability on the campaign trail while the presumptive GOP nominee has struggled to make a similar connection with voters. LINK

Bloomberg's Lisa Lerer: " Romney Donors Get Access, and Face Time, at Utah Retreat" In the first-class cabin of Delta Flight 832, the schmoozing began well before take-off. Wayne Berman, a lobbyist for Blackstone Group LP, stood in the plane's aisle, swapping stories with Rob Bishop, a U.S. House member from Utah, and Ron Kaufman, a senior adviser to Mitt Romney, over Biscoff cookies and complimentary cocktails.
